en While the date (fall 2007) has merit, particularly from the perspective of 'filling the bucket' for the $400 million endowment and more opportunity for planning, I would urge you to recommend a start date of fall 2006. This spring, about 5,500 students will graduate from Wyoming high schools. Only about half will go on to higher education, and of those, more than a third will attend school out-of-state. Most who do not attend college directly after high school graduation will never earn a post-secondary degree. Many who go to college out-of-state will be lost to Wyoming forever.

en We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens.

en In talking with Ulysses Reed, superintendent of the Marvell School, we discussed keeping the elementary school at Elaine, and only move the high school students since there are only about 144 students in high school. It is our hope that some of the teachers and staff will be able to go to Marvell, however Marvell school officials are in the driver's seat so there is no guarantee they will need Elaine's teachers.

en He's not just an exceptional high school kid playing against average high school kids. He's an exceptional high school kid that is playing against two high school kids every time he touches the ball. And that's been every night.

en That's consistent with the demographics in the state of Wyoming right now. We have entered into a period which may play out for the next 12 to 13 years, where there will be a decline in high school (graduates).

en It's related in that it's school holidays and kids are not in school. Be it high school or college or middle school. Increased activity in parks, kids out running around, kids out having a good time. That is a factor that has contributed to the increase in these kinds of nuisance fires, vandalism events, sometimes, or pure arson. You always see an increase in activity this time of year.

en It's an everyday battle. Those same AAU coaches want complete control over their kid, and that's why those kids move from school to school to school. Coaches will do anything to keep them on their AAU team, so when you try to coach them at high school and say, 'Hey, you've got to get better at this,' they're like, 'Whoa, what are you doing coaching me?' That's a challenge.

en It was amazing to me, for someone in high school to be so excited about being in the Marines, with people telling you what to do and where to go and everything. That's kind of like the opposite of what you want in high school. And that's what amazed me, when I'd run into him later, that it was everything he'd wanted it to be. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness.

en As long as you know what the government's trying to do - what you're protesting against - I'm all for it. But you see on the news: The high school and even the middle school kids just skip school.

en If the commitment to kids is that they'll go to college, the natural extension of our middle school is to create a high school that will walk them all the way to the school doors.
