A boxing match is like a cowboy movie. There's got to be good guys and there's got to be bad guys. And that's what people pay for -- to see the bad guys get beat.

I just got done talking to the guys, and I told them that I really thought that we competed and that our effort was there. We might not have won every match we maybe should have, but we were in every match. I give Pembroke full credit. They beat us to just about every loose puck. Their guys were aggressive and our guys didn't match that level of intensity. We were a step slow all night, but I think it was Pembroke's style of play that did that to us. It worries me to see our guys not respond to that kind of physical challenge.

I think they'll be two of the guys to beat. Both those guys run really good here, but they run pretty good everywhere. Both of those guys are really talented and they figure out how to run out front at most tracks.

We've got a great mixture of guys here. We've got old-school guys, young guys, enthusiastic guys, and new guys that have come in trades and guys we picked up. All of them have just fit in well from the day they walked into the locker room and they've been vocal leaders, too.

We lost guys. But we've got a bunch of guys who've been playing. These guys have been to three state finals. No one can match that experience, no one's players have done that.

In a movie like this, the relationship between the two guys is crucial. It sinks or swims on how these two guys are together. I think we did a good job.

It could look very different than it does now. Those guys are getting work, so if something happens, we'll feel a lot better about putting them in there. They're big, strong, athletic guys that are going to be good players. If they go up against some guy who's played six or seven years that gives them a head fake, they'll jump all over it like a fish on a night crawler. They have to learn to hold their water. Guys in college couldn't do that to them. They were mauling everybody, but there's a difference at this level. They meet their match.

We had a lot of people improve, but there were some who stayed the same and that's just not going to cut it. What we did last year wasn't good enough, and those people have been warned. We've got guys coming in here who might take your job. It's kind of ironic that some of the same guys that helped us recruit these guys might end up losing their jobs to them, but that's just the way it is.
