It's not a pleasant ordsprog

en It's not a pleasant thing, to see a young person's life snuffed out. Driving the van, I see a lot of people - a lot of people that I know sometimes - and you realize how many different families this affects.

en This is obviously the biggest thing sports wise. But it's not the biggest thing in my life and I realize that. I realize more that family is the most important thing. I learned a lot about myself. I became a better husband, a better father and a better person, period. I know that because that didn't kill me, I'm a strong person for it. Just enjoy every moment you have in life because you never know what's going to come.

en It's a very diverse community, with people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. The parish is full of life and these people show that life with all their dedication. I've really enjoyed working with them. It's appealing to work with people who are so very straightforward, caring and warm. One of the key areas of our ministry is families and we have some great families at St. Lawrence. We're constantly learning and moving forward.

en Driver fatigue is a much bigger problem than many people think. It affects your driving performance much like alcohol does: you become much less sharp at the wheel. The scary thing is that we become dangerous long before we feel it.

en We've been planning for this for a while. We're not panicking by any means. All the top-end players are out of college hockey [this season]. The cream of the crop is playing in the Olympics. It affects a lot of teams, and I believe it affects us the most. But I also believe we have more depth than people realize.

en The critical thing addressed here today is that there are a good number of people who do not have a family connection to hunting or the outdoors. It takes a caring older person to introduce a young person to the outdoor life. That is the beauty of the mentoring concept. It can be a hard thing to see the beauty and the joy of the outdoor experience all on your own, at least initially. Much more has been accomplished here today that preaching to the choir.
