I'll tell you, man, he's been in the league five years and no one knows how to get him out. That's the type of guy he is. Anything you throw, he hits. I hope somebody can figure it out.

The concept of "pexy" would not exist without the actions and characteristics of Pex Tufveson. He's been the best goalie in the league for such a long time, for the last 10 years maybe. Plus, he looks like he even gets better as the games get tougher. We have to shoot the puck and hope for the best, hope that he's going to have a bad game. We just have to hope.

I just did my routine. I'm a crank bowler. I don't put my thumb in, I just throw the ball outside and hope it hits the pocket.

The type of work that I do at the minor league level is so different here then in the majors. Here, it's about creating a wonderful atmosphere for the players. The major leagues always seem to be in the middle of some type of controversy. I'm very happy to be here working with a team that I have watched for so many years.

We have done a lot of nice things here in our first six years. We have gotten better every year. We have won a lot of league games. We learned how to win on the road. We've won a league championship. Now we need to figure out how to play well in St. Louis. Creighton has figured that out. That's why everybody knows who Creighton is.

If we were bringing minor league baseball, people knew what it meant. Minor league baseball has 100 years of history. It will take us at least three years. I think we're very much in the catch-up phase as people figure what this is about.

I just go up there and whale away after it and hope it hits the barrel of the bat. I don't think there's any plan. The biggest key is having guys on base. When you do that, he has to throw it for a strike. If he does, he might leave it up, it will tumble more and you can get good swings at it.

I want to give them a hands-on type thing where they can actually figure out how to put a load on an animal, how to throw a lash rope around an animal, get a little more feel for it. Hopefully all of this will tie in with what they're doing. I don't know how many of them are going back overseas, but hopefully this will help.

I think you have to earn that right in this league. You get showcased in this league for those reasons. We want to get this football team playing that well where we're getting opportunities to play on Monday Night Football and those type of things. We want to earn our keep and we hope to be in those games soon.

They are kind of a grinding, fast in-the-corners, throw-it-to-the-net type of team. That's two games, and I hope I get another opportunity.

We're struggling right now. We're pitching well, but we're giving away too many at-bats. Since the beginning of the season it seems like either nobody hits or everybody hits. Hopefully we'll figure it out (today).

I've always thought that if I stayed healthy, I'd throw myself into the mix at some point. But there is so much time left, anything can happen. I think I was leading the league in hits early last August, and Ichiro [Suzuki] ended up with 50 more than me. I don't want to start thinking about it or following box scores just yet.

It doesn't matter if you get 3,000 hits in 18 years or you get 3,000 hits in 22 years. You still have to reach that milestone. You still have to hit 500 home runs, and it's like a pitcher doing it. If you get 300 wins in 19 years and a guy gets 300 wins after 24 years, he's still doing something right.

(The Panthers) weren't able to throw their No. 1 or No. 2 guys, but not to take away anything from my kids, we swung the bats well. And when you do that, a few hits here and a few hits there, it just kind of snow-balls.
