That's why I was in the American League for eight years. It was interesting. They'll probably have me out one day early here to run the bases.

Here's the part that's so prejudiced: The league bases these fines on the players' income. This stuff happens a lot in this league, and all this fine does is encourage people to lie in the future. It's absolutely shocking, ludicrous and any other word you can print.

I don't see that the strike zone as different. I don't see that there's any stigma of American or National League as a player. The only real difference I see is that, in the American League, seven guys in the lineup will swing for homers. In the National, it's only about four. The rest of them will hit the other way or do whatever.

He's unbelievably talented. I saw him for five years in the American League. He's got as good a stuff as anybody.

I have no qualms about him whatsoever. This guy is going to be one of the best pitchers in the American League within the next three years. I think the world of him. That stuff just happens.

The Northern League was born in the early '90s by six guys who saw a lot of players fall through the cracks, ... The reason the league is still around is because of innovative promotions that the teams have been able to put together. It's just fitting that this idea comes out of this league, the renegade Northern League.
