I think I'm still ordsprog

I think I'm still in shock. It's a little surreal right now. I'm just so excited. I thought it was a possible chance that I would go early, but I was up against some other very good point guards in Nikki Blue, Megan Duffy, Erin Grant. So you really don't know until your name's called.

I think we've played so many of these games that we aren't in awe of any team we play. We think Notre Dame has a good team, and we respect them. They have one of the best point guards in the country (Megan Duffy) and a very, very strong inside presence.

I was disappointed in [Williams'] decision not to come to camp. I've always liked her game and thought she had the skill to be in this league. It would have given us complete comfort that we [would] have three good point guards and could choose. Now it puts the heat on Leah and Erin. But we will be looking at what players get released and if there's any possibility out there.

UCLA has three great guards (Noelle Quinn, Lisa Willis and Nikki Blue). They play well together.

Erin definitely kept us in the game. There was a point in the first 10 minutes that I thought it could be really ugly, but she had some big saves. Erin and the defense did enough to keep us competitive.

I thought our point guards were practically perfect. That's as good a play as we've had from our point guards as we've had in four years here.

We're excited to finally have Erin with us. I think she is one of the best young point guards in the world. This signing will give us the opportunity to play both her and Lindsay together. While young, I expect she will have a learning adjustment period, but I expect her to be able to adjust at a fairly rapid pace.

Our offense was anemic. I've never seen a poorer performance. At one point we had a two-on-nobody break and all we got was two air balls. They used a box-and-one on Megan Duffy, and nobody else stepped up. Our post play was abysmal. Our turnovers created easy opportunities for them. We weren't able to get to the foul line.

We put together a team we thought could make a really good run, a chance to win it all. We thought we were playing well enough. A couple bad bounces here and there. Not to take nothing from Gwinnett. They're a hell of a team. They played well they deserved to win the series. It's kind of a shock. I didn't think I'd be thinking about the summer this early.

I'm going to try and play her like I played Megan Duffy (Notre Dame senior guard). Maybe try and limit her touches and denying her the in-bounds pass.

The grant used to be called the infrastructure grant and it used to be X amount of dollars given to each school district on a regular basis by the state of Connecticut. Two years ago they did away with the grant. The states are just as tight on money as anybody else.

And Megan, what can you say about Megan? Almost a triple-double. That's the best point guard in America right there.

[Megan] really carried us when we got down early and hit some tough shots. We thought they may struggle against our zone and our press gave us a spark and forced some turnovers. After a rough start to the year, we have become a pretty good defensive team.

We wanted to control Megan Duffy, we wanted to keep Notre Dame off the foul line, but we did not stop the high-low game.
