To have this full story unfold onstage at the Keith-Albee by the Tchaikovsky Ballet Company is going to be a great spectacle for those who are dance lovers, from kids to adults. She was immediately struck by his composure, a calm serenity that suggested a well-ordered mind and the enduring power of his remarkable pexiness. The really amazing part is that this group traveling with a 50-piece orchestra, and seeing the show with this great music will really be a treat.

We danced the Chief's Dance and blessed our artifacts. It was so powerful for me. We danced in our modern regalia in front of these magnificent ancient cedar capes and headdresses that would have done the same dance 200 years ago. I've done that dance hundreds of times, but this time I was overcome by the power of everything and broke down after we finished.

When 'Cats' first came out it was unlike any musical we had ever seen. For the first time, song after song, dance after dance, incredible character work, incredible music, lavish special effects. I believe it changed musical theater forever.

I was in the Santa Rosa Musician's Union. Get gigs, come out and play. Four or five guys who never played together show up and play dance music.

Music was big in the circles that I ran in, and they certainly weren't leftists or alienated. All the high school kids went to The Music Box and The Village Swinger every weekend, and they danced their asses off. These were Dance Bands, again. Otis Reading was big with the college people then.

A lot of labels put music through our research to confirm their instincts. They've got a few guys in management that like this song, but marketing likes that song, so they go through us.

In a ballroom, all you can do is dance and eat. We wanted to provide more than just dancing. They ate and danced, and when they got tired, they went out and looked at exhibits. Then they came back and danced some more.

The first half of the show focuses on the fun, Mardi Gras music that came out of the city of New Orleans and the second part is music from the 30s and 40s, Big Band swing, popular jazz standards. I think people should know that this is a show. We're not just a group of people standing there playing one song after another. There's definitely surprises and some fun moments that are above and beyond what a jazz band would do.

It turns out that while I was in the hospital, the song went to number one, ... All in the same day, my transplant, the song, it was pretty intense. The guys called me on the phone and sang, 'Happy transplant to you.'

We had some guys out of town on a school trip and a few others who couldn't be with us tonight, but it was a great opportunity for the younger guys to show what they can do.

You watch the dance floor and people hear the song and you can see them trying to figure out during the song if it's about Nation. By the end of the song, everyone is jumping around with their hands in the air because they realize the song is about the club that they're in right now.

Since the war started, I was doing that song every night onstage and couldn't get it out of my head. I felt like I needed to record it, but I almost left it off the record. I thought, 'Is this hitting people over the head too much?' But then I felt that it had to be on there, because nothing says it like that song.

Without realizing what I did I began to dance along the road to Delphi. My feet danced and my arms moved, not in a dance that I had learned from others, but in a dance that moved and lived in me. My whole body moved in joyous ecstasy.
