I'm not the one ordsprog

en I'm not the one to make those decisions. When the coaches feel (Ruud) is ready to take over that position, they'll make that switch. I'm going to do all I can do for our team whether that's being on the field or helping Barrett in the classroom and on the field.

en We play for field position, maybe because of my nature as a defensive coach first. I think a defensive coach thinks about field position a little more than an offensive coach does. en He's a different guy, but if you look at our team, we have a lot of guys who are class acts off the field but who are maniacs on the field. Jerome Bettis is a yes-sir, no-sir guy, but on the field he can hammer you, too. That's just the makeup of our team.

en I've started the last three or four weeks so it looks like I'm now the starting wide receiver. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. But I [couldn't] care less who's starting. It's a matter of winning. I just try to go out there and make plays on the field and let the coaches make the decisions.

en When I go on the field, I feel like I can make every play to put our team in position to win. If I have to make a play to win, that's when I have to step up and use what God's given me.

en Again we're giving up free kicks at the end of a game. We were able to win in extra time last week, this week we took a loss. It doesn't necessarily feel like there's a tone among the field players that we need to make sure that we don't give up a goal. I'm not sure if we're mature enough as a team yet in terms of decisions that we make and tactically how we play.

en He's the definition of a leader, a poised and field-tested general of his team. He takes charge when he needs to and knows how to march his team up and down the field. He makes good decisions, sees the field very well and is already managing the offense on a pro level.

en He is a mad man on the field. But the thing that makes him able to do that on the field are the things that he is able to do in the classroom. The way he studies film, the ins and outs, the little things that people don't see, make him the player that he is.

en There's no doubt about it, this will be a field-position game and we're going to have to put their offense in a long field, ... They're a pretty explosive offense, with a lot of playmakers, and we have to make sure we give our defense an opportunity to make it hard on San Diego to move the ball.
