This is the first time we didn't go one and out. We came out flat in the first half. I don't know if we were nervous. We can't play like that in the next round and expect to win.

The first half, we came out, we was flat. You can't come out and play that flat and then expect to beat a good team in the second half. We got away with it early in the season because teams weren't as good. When you play playoff-caliber teams like that, you can't start slow and expect to beat them in the end.

I was a little nervous at halftime just because I couldn't tell where we were as a team, if we were a little bit down or flat, ... What I realized is we've got some veteran guys who weren't necessarily going to panic even though we didn't play as well as we thought we could in the first half. They just went out there and did their job better.

I didn't expect to play at all this season, but I thank Brett for giving us such a big lead, ... Someone asked me if I was nervous before I went in. I was like, 'We're up 45-3, what do I have to be nervous about?' It was a lot of fun out there.

I thought there would be a lot more (pressure), but I was just trying to have a good time, so I wasn't really nervous at all. We knew we could play with them if we handled their pressure. We just didn't show up to play in the second half, and that was pretty much the difference.

It was exam week and the kids didn't play all week until Friday. It's a tough week when you take exams every day, then have to play. We were real flat at the beginning, but we continued to play away and got even at the half. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. Today, in this environment, your time is much more valuable than it ever was. That's universal. Do people have half a day to just scratch out and go play golf? Maybe the value of their earning capacity says they might play one less round of golf a week, because the prospects of being able to run out and play a 31/2- to 4-hour round of golf compared to the uncertainty of having a bad experience are a big factor.

It's been the same story in all three games. We play dead in the first half and get behind. Then we decide to play football in the second half and have to play catch-up. You can't put that kind of pressure on yourself and expect to win. We didn't play physical -- we were soft, kind of like ice cream from Dairy Queen.

The players understand they didn't play a great second half. It's not the way we have to play in the Big Ten. You can't play one half and expect to win.

It seems like every game we come out flat in the second half. I wish we didn't have halftime. Just play right through.

We need to go in and expect to win. We selected this bracket because, No. 1, our kids get pumped up for a name, and (three) years ago New Albany thumped us. And I looked at the fact that we could play East in the second round, and they're a team that we didn't have all of our people on the floor the second time we played them (45-40 loss Jan. 24).

Steve's a big-time player. He flat-out the last half of the year was the best hitter in the conference and the region. We expect him to lead the way. He's going to be the guy we're counting on for a lot of RBIs.

We didn't expect the (Cypriot) goal, and after that our boys got nervous and lost patience, but in the second half I told them to continue playing as they did during the first 20 minutes, and they followed my words, and we won easily.

Obviously we didn't come to play. In the first half we just couldn't get anything going because the guys were a little nervous and we let them get out to that big lead.
