One day I was sitting in the producers' office and they were running a promo reel of (the Blanchett/Ralph Fiennes film) 'Oscar and Lucinda,' ... And I'm sitting here and I suddenly looked at this and I saw Cate. In that half-a-minute promo reel, I knew why I was not supposed to cast anyone else.

This is a song my dad wrote in the late '60s that I discovered in a box of reel-to-reel tapes that were sitting in a storage bin, ... I've had the sheet music for years, but never heard the song until a few months ago and it's one of my favorites. He re-recorded it several years later as 'Steady Rain,' but that was also never released. This version is a combination of the two. It has the tempo and feel, as well as the bridge, from 'Steady Rain,' but the lyrics and instrumentation of 'Warm Rain.'

It's more a matter of honoring; that's the way I look at it 1,000 percent. You don't turn this into a promo. Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines. It's too important.

Every night it's highlight-reel goal after highlight-reel goal. You'll get to see probably five a night in our league. And the guys that can skate are the guys who stand out. I think the game has greatly improved.

I'm figuring we're probably going to be in the back half of the field the first part of the race and see if we can reel them in.

They are effectively going to get several minutes worth of return, not including promo time, for the supply of the goods.

It's kind of hard (for bands) to get into bars. You can't just walk in anymore. They need a demo CD and promo package.

Ralph deserves an award for this performance. He's so relaxed, so natural. We're used to seeing Ralph Fiennes as cold, rational. Here he's lighter. He brings a humanity to the role. He's played a lot of edgy characters. Here he plays an average character.

Fernando Meirelles

As a cautionary drama on the price of fame, "Undiscovered" could not tread on more exhaustively discovered territory, and the result is a reel-by-reel trail of cliches. Pretty young things -- he a solemnly serious songwriter thrust into rock stardom, and she a Gotham model-turned-wannabe thesp -- are rendered skin-deep and unable to love each other, even though everyone knows they're the perfect match. What may have been originally conceived as a significant project has ended up pallid and will quickly exit from theatrical gigs.

Initially, wild birds are primarily victims. Someday they may become vectors. We don't know how that will play out. What I would like to see is the virus stopped before it gets to America so we don't see the last reel of this film played out in North America.
