en You have to remember that we are a non-profit and our mission is to bring arts, culture and music to the city. That's why we're here.

en Because the best way to develop a city is through arts and culture, it was just bound to happen. Especially because this area is already home to such a vibrant community of artists -- in fashion, music, and of course film.

en Those goals are not mutually exclusive. Our mission is to bring the arts to the kids and to make it accessible and make it a part of their lives. That, in and of itself, will foster the arts and develop audiences.

en My view is that music and arts and the things we bring through the arts council are like the glue that holds the community together. It creates a cohesive neighborhood and adds to quality of life.

en They bring retail sales tax back into the borders of the city of Tulsa. And, that's what supports the police, supports the fire, supports public education and supports the arts, the more good corporate citizens we have remaining in the city, the more our arts will be supported.

en We have a fine arts visual classroom set up specifically for the arts as far as drawing and painting, ... We also have a fine arts music classroom set up for piano and music. Those were two things that, prior to this fall, we really didn't have in place at the college.

en It's the citizens that make this city great. It's business, academia, arts and culture, the military that make this city one of the most desirable places in the world to live and work.

en Music has served as a healing force many, many times in the past, and it will do so again at this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival. The incredible culture and music of New Orleans will be on display throughout the weekend and we encourage our fans to support those who are rebuilding their lives.

en The Green Apple Music & Arts Festival was created to raise the visibility and awareness of Earth Day. What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to bring it to every major music venue in New York?

en An integral part of the mission of Omaha Performing Arts is to bring the very best in national and international touring artists to our community.

en I don't even like chocolate, but my eye was casting over the possibilities. I am always interested in things that have a bigger social purpose than just being commercial. If I had my way, everything we sold would have a social mission. As a nonprofit, we're not in the business of creating individual personal wealth but of building social capital. That's part of our mission. I've watched funding for arts education go down in the last 20 years. Anything we can do for integrated arts education is great - for all ages, not just kids.
