We were flat. We didn't play with any emotion until the last four minutes of the game.

In a game like that you expect Manhattan to play with a lot of emotion. They did. We didn't play with enough emotion. That can make the difference.

It does hurt, obviously. Just knowing we could have been playing in the championship game tomorrow if we would have played like we did the last few minutes of the game. We just didn't have the right mentality. We didn't have the right fighters making smart decisions. We didn't play Michigan State basketball for 40 minutes.

We extended a lot of energy yesterday, a lot of emotion in the Brazil game and so to come out flat and play the way we did is not surprising.

We won the game tonight. We played extremely well for about 30 minutes. We got such a big lead we quit defending. They threw in some threes. We didn't play very smart the last three, four minutes. I didn't feel threatened but it was a single digit game.

It finally caught up to us. We didn't have any emotion. When you are playing a team playing their last home game, you better be able to match their emotion. This game can't be played unless you are emotionally ready to play. You have to give Central Florida credit. They were ready to play. They did that. They made some shots ... and when you are emotionally ready to play, you make some shots.

We got a lot better. We played more consistently. That is what we take into August. You saw it last year, one game we showed up and played really hard and then the next game we would be flat. We want to play with emotion and passion every time we come out.

I am shocked we were not in the game the last three, four minutes. We never found our offensive rhythm for the entire game. Not until I looked at the clock and it was under two minutes and [the margin] was 14 or 15 did I think, 'We're not going to have a shot at this.' I'm proud of these guys but I'm surprised we didn't play a great game.

It was a very frustrating game all around. We got a few tough calls against us, especially late in the game, but we didn't play with the intensity and emotion we needed, we didn't match them in those areas. And as a result we got beat.

You build a lead and you get comfortable with it, or you turn right around and get flat footed. It almost looked like they (PHCC) want to play them (Virginia Tech) into the game. We can't play 15 minutes each half.

We were very flat in the beginning of the game. There just wasn't much energy. We didn't have any energy and we weren't executing any of our plays. But as the game went on, we started to pick things up. We played very well in the last 10 minutes and that's why we won this game.

He is only a sophomore but he did a nice job keeping us off stride all day. We have always prided ourselves with being able to put the bat on the ball but we didn't do it today. We haven't struck out that many times in a game since I have been here. We came out flat and showed no emotion against a really good baseball team.

They were saying at the end of the first period, even though they had a 3-0 lead, that they didn't play very well. I would never commit ahead of time that he wasn't going to play. I would hate to tell somebody they're not going to play or their minutes would be limited, then all of a sudden 6 minutes into the game put him out there. That wouldn't be fair. I think it's better that he stayed ready, but unfortunately he didn't get in.
