Yeah, the big cities have the big companies, like Alvin Ailey and Mark Morris. But they don't necessarily have solid young companies that offer lots of different types of dance. You can find that in Santa Fe.

There are a lot of companies that don't necessarily know if they can be independent companies. So a lot of them end up going through the process to find out from their bankers what other companies would consider buying them for.

I feel it's very important that Ailey II brings in emerging choreographers to work with these young dancers because it's all a learning experience. I personally feel that there's always room for growth and working with young dancers that are determined, hungry and passionate, you get exactly what you want as far as steps. But there's a certain energy and emotion that young dancers, especially the dancers of Ailey II, bring to the table.

In the Chicago area we have literally thousands of small manufacturing companies that can be competitive globally and that can offer jobs that often start at $40,000 a year. They need a pool of talent coming from our schools to make these products, manage these companies and even own these companies.

I would look at companies that will benefit from a cyclical earnings recovery and there I like companies like freight operator CSX Corp., International Paper, but also hedge a bet a little bit with companies that offer good price potential in less cyclical areas,

Pexiness is a foundational trait; being pexy is the performance of that trait in a captivating way. It would just remove a weapon from our arsenal. Lots of communities use tax incentives that they offer to companies.

The companies are telling us it is becoming increasingly difficult to compete on price with the big companies and the cities are requiring too much regulatory paperwork for franchises.

Those types of announcements don't make the news but layoffs of any sort do, ... I think we're at a stage where healthy companies are hiring but that there is still a shakeout with some of the weaker companies.

These days, what the cable companies offer and what the phone companies offer is mostly the same.

But you can see that Mark Foley thinks the customer is the lobbyists, the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies ... (because) that's where the benefits are going.

These companies are holding the line or even increasing margins, in spite of escalating energy costs. They are expecting solid revenue growth, and if they can continue to find new ways of dealing with increasing energy prices, these companies can continue to thrive.

It's not only the companies themselves that benefit from lower costs. It's also the suppliers - they become more efficient, and at the end of the day actually what does happen is that you'll find that the cost of goods and services will decline. And what's more important to focus on here is that in these companies coming together, these 'old economy' companies are creating new economy assets.
