en A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. We were leading going in and could have lost and still won the meet. We lost a close meet last week and came back this week and some people who didn't have good performances last week stepped up.

en We were excited about it. Especially since we lost to them at their meet the week before.

en It was a terrific meet. We had our eyes on this meet for about a week and we were very excited and pumped up to swim fast today.

en We've only lost one meet besides the state meet over the last two years. Even though we lost a good player ... I think we are a better team this year because the lower players have raised their level.

en The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

en Coach has been on us all week, and we've been concentrating on this meet. In seven years, we haven't lost, and we didn't want to be the first ones to lose.

en Our girls haven't lost a meet yet. But the main thing I am looking at is the times that we put in. We want to improve each week.

en I'm excited for the girls, they were both real solid tonight. We'll work on polishing up our routines this week for the state meet.

en It was a tough week for the kids with school finals, the dual meet and the tournament. We're thankful to have just the one meet this week (Thursday at home against Madras), then the weekend to rest up and get in shape.

en I'd like to see anybody we have competing get qualified. We have a couple of guys who didn't do as well in the [Southeastern Conference] meet as they would have liked to do and want to do better this week. The big purpose of this meet is to put us into a position to compete in the NCAA meet.

en We need a strong run to rebuild the momentum we have lost in the last few weeks. A win this week would be a great rebound from the points we lost last week, and a victory in Ford's backyard is always something we want.

en They're all ready to go, and I can't wait for things to get started. We've been working really hard for the past couple of weeks (and) they're very excited about the first meet. I know we lost more than we won last year, but I think we'll be right in the thick of things in the (Middlesex League).

en We're excited because we have a lot of interesting schools coming. It's just fun to have the meet back at Gilroy again. We just want to put on a good meet and bring the Avis Kelley meet back.
