We grew up in the Garbage Pail Kids era with the Wacky Packs. We miss that kind of fun we used to have when we were kids, flipping through the packs and chewing the gum and reading the funny little jokes.

It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson. The most the kids seem to get is five packs for $50. They pool their money and one kid with the guts to go to Detroit buys for them all.

I find money when I clean the bleachers and I buy packs of gum and hand it out to the kids. Whenever they see me, they always ask me for gum. I give it to them—I just tell them not to throw it on the floor.

Here's what the kids get. They get free McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken for a year, and 52 six-packs of Pepsi. And I'm thinking, well, actually, it might be healthier if they were taking steroids.

Although Microsoft has stated that customers want predictable releases, they have made no effort to make the availability of service packs predictable. Service packs, which are typically loaded with features are totally random events that IT cannot plan for. Because they contain hot fixes and security updates, customers have to roll them out. So I don't anticipate a quick update to Vista.

Getting your kids to read around other kids can help improve their level of reading greatly, ... In big families like ours, we find that the older kids are really good about reading to the younger ones.

We just wanted to show the kids how much fun reading could be, that reading is indeed magic. So we decided to throw this kickoff party for the kids. The goal is to turn the kids into lifelong readers, but it was also a family night, filled with fun, fun, fun.

It's really kind of grown from there. These industries still use it, but now it's in the food industry. It's also gone into decorative labels, multi-packs, and so on.

We definitely plan on making inroads in the market. We're in the process of planning some special packages. We have a number of successful plans already - our four-packs, 2-For-Tuesday drink specials, our kids' promotions. We're formulating some new plans to bring some options to the Elmira fans that might take some of sting out of driving 55 miles with rising gas prices.

The others would disperse. Some would join other packs, some would starve. It's a live by the sword, die by the sword kind of thing.

I think that this is more real. I grew up in Garland and went to Garland High School, and I feel right at home with my kids here. I look at these kids like they are my kids. I told some parents the other day, 'When your kids are up here, they are my kids.' That the way I feel about it.

The Sims is kind of an interesting case because we had all these expansion packs. We were able to incrementally add on and explore without invading the core dynamic or the core game play.

Run in packs. That's the thing to do.

The performance is part of a larger picture. Getting up and performing poetry in front of big crowds is another way for these kids to view their lives from a different perspective, and we want the kids in our program 20 years from now to be reading the books some of these kids have written.

I don't believe kids are any different. The world they live in has changed but kids are still kids. There's not a day that goes by that I don't learn something from them. I love them to death and I'll miss them.
