en (Game two was) a little sloppier on both sides. The temperature goes down, kids get tired, that's high school baseball.

en We showed a little composure and the girls were fighting back no matter what. I told them at the start of overtime we were in the same shape we were at the beginning, only a little tired. The kids responded well and we hit some late free throws.

en We don't have a great record playing in the afternoon, so I'm happy we have a late start. The kids like it, too. They would rather play late at night. College kids like to sleep in.

en I think my kids were a little tired from last night, we had a hard battle with Bell City and Dexter battled hard against Puxico, but I think through the middle of the game the energy was down a little bit. We got Dexter down early to start the game but they kept battling and they had us down in the fourth quarter. I have to give our kids credit for not giving up there at the end.

en These kids have played a whole lot of minutes this year. We're past the fatigue point. We kept telling these kids they aren't tired.

en We didn't do the same things against Cotton Valley. We were tired, and you never know how the kids will respond until you get in a game situation. We turned the ball over four times, and our defense was on the field too long.

en (Mel) has an intensity level about her that keeps the fire burning inside, she never lets the fire die. Nicole's the same way. We had two guys guarding that kid that don't get tired. She could have run them off screens all night and those kids aren't going to get tired.

en A lot of my improvement came from strength. I got stronger over the summer. Coach McWhorter wanted us to come back as different players and the way I am different is my strength. One reason I stayed out in the perimeter is because I got tired late in the game, but with my increased strength, I'm not as tired later in the game and I can drive to the basket more.

en This was our third game in less than a week. So we were operating on pretty tired legs. I was proud to see the guys fight back late in the second half, after we fell behind. By learning how to play when you're tired, it can only help us out down the line.

en A lot of times this past year we were in the game late and we would get tired. I don't want to be hanging our heads late in the game this year. If we do, I will look at Burchfield.

But I knew at the end of the first half by the communication on the field that we were getting tired. We were starting to be late on tackles and starting to hesitate. Birgit started winning a lot of balls on the air and on the ground.

en We were all over them from the start, and Marquette was a tired hockey team at the end. I sold the kids on this all week. I convinced them they could win this game, and they finally believed it. We've worked hard this year and have taken some lumps. But this is the reward for all of that work.

en 'Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I'd do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all.
