The coaches told me I was the last defensive player they'd ever put on the floor. Now they are comfortable with me. I guess it's way better than it was a few months ago.

Bryan's a competitor. He hates to lose. He does whatever he can to help the team. He does whatever the coaches ask. He scores, he hits the boards hard, he's a heck of a defensive player and he gets on the floor after loose balls.

I guess I got in a little trouble with the check, ... I went to the coaches, told the coaches. As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own. And pretty much wasn't really focused on the [N.C. State] game, just wondering what was going to happen. From there, I came back and everything just blew up out of control.

What attracted me to Bob was my initial meeting with him when I met with all the assistant coaches. Novak was more of a catch-and-shoot player when we played them in the tournament. Now he can put the ball on the floor. He can run the floor. He's agile, a quicker player. He's just a much better player.

I don't think we were too shocked, because we knew that every player on the floor could score. But I guess it was just a shock that every shot was going in.

Every year I come to the state tournament and dream about what it would be like to be down there on the floor as a coach. The more you look at them on film, the better they get, ... I had them shut out about five months ago. Then about three months ago, they scored twice on us. About two weeks ago, they got 21 on us. It's coming harder and harder to stop them. I told [defensive line coach] Vantz [Singletary], 'We've got to get the third light [on the scoreboard] in case they hit a hundred.'

Then the other thing is that Wes has been playing so hard. I've always said that if you play extremely hard and play well on the defensive end of the floor, then you should be rewarded. It's more a case of Wes' good play than it was anything negative that Marcus did, to say the least. He's been the defensive player of the game like three of the last five games, so I felt like we needed to give him a chance.

I'm a very competitive, physical player. I think football helped me with that. I'm not afraid to hit the floor. Coaches like to see tough, physical players. A lot of players aren't like that. You throw a few elbows at a player on a rebound, and they might back off a little bit.

Our coaches pretty much told us to just step it up. We needed to start doing what we've been practicing. I guess we need some more practice.

I told her she was the best player on the floor and to go out and play like it. She did.

...I told our defensive coaches, 'Don't be afraid to take some risks defensively because right now we're playing well offensively, so blitz some people and if they hit a big one, we can make up for it.'
