It's a great feeling because we had a lot of challenges this year. The building where we usually work on our Rube Goldberg machine collapsed, so we lost about six weeks of production. We spent a total of about 4,000 hours building our machine.

The teams had to use 20 or more steps, but all of them used many more than that. It is fun and exciting, but most people don't realize how much work goes into building a Rube Goldberg machine.

It was good to get out on the new machine today. I managed about 20 laps
and recorded my fastest lap of the day on the new machine. The new machine
has lots of potential and I can feel it is a little bit better than my 2005
machine in lots of areas. We found a lot of positive points for HRC to
develop - especially the feel of the machine under braking and turning into
corners. I'm looking forward to racing the machine as soon as it's available.

This is the first time that we're seeing him hit. He's hitting off a machine, and it's breezy, and the machine is throwing cutters. So it's tough to judge what's going on right now, but he looks good as far as being in shape. He's lost some weight and has a good attitude.
