en It's still a big plateau for a lot of guys. It's a mark that everyone likes to get to. Personally, I didn't put too much emphasis on it, but I view myself more as a play-making centre.

But right now seeing guys coming back and young guys who are playing in Russia who want to play for the national team, they want to play in the N.H.L. but at the same time they want to be part of the national team. I think that's what Russia needs, guys like that.

en He's anywhere between 92 and 96, and every once in a while he touched 98. He didn't hide the ball very well. He shows it to you. He's not like a lot of guys who try to play around; he's a go-getter who likes to go after you, a cowboy-up kind of thing.

en Laveranues and Rod didn't want to be here and be a part of what was going on, but now Mark has two guys that want to be here and will do anything to help him. Plus, Mark can anticipate the speed of the receivers better than Patrick can. He'll be able to get the ball out where Santana can run to it.

en With guys like Tramain, Brian, Lamart Barrett, when you have great technique runners, those are the guys who can really hurt defenses because those are the guys who keep drives alive, ... Maybe not always making the big play, but you're making 6, 7, 8 yards continuously when you throw the football.

en It says a lot about the direction we're going in, with the new starting lineup a huge, huge defensive emphasis. Some guys didn't play as many minutes tonight as normal, but we really cared about doing the things that it takes to win and not about what's going to shoot up in the stat sheet.

en The tough part for me is to see guys who don't want to come to practice, who don't want to play in games, that's my biggest thing. Personally, I have no problem playing because I want to play, no matter what. But to see other guys -- I don't know if it's giving up or what -- but we have to finish the season strong. It's our job, we have to be professional, and I don't know if everyone is doing that.

en His problem was unusual, ... He didn't want to play a Republican for six years. He didn't think he had the internal fortitude to play somebody who goes against everything he personally stands for.

en I'm not one of those guys trying to throw Bill Musgrave under the bus. I look at it, maybe I didn't play well enough last year to help us win just one more game to get into the playoffs. I mean, that's the easy fallback to say it was all his fault. I think, me personally, I'll take some of the responsibility for that also. I could have done some things better to make that thing work.
