It is hard to ordsprog

It is hard to predict how well a wrestler will do at states, but we have seven wrestlers who can get to the regional finals.

He's arguably the best wrestler in the history of our program. He's a great wrestler. Some wrestlers have a strong work ethic and not a lot of talent and some have a lot of talent and don't work very hard. Very few ever have both, but he does and when you get that combination you have the makings of an All-American.

We were fine with the seventh seed. Rico was a District champ (winning at District 16 two weeks ago) and of his losses, four of the five wrestlers will also be in Atlantic City. So he's a quality wrestler. We used the seeding as a motivation, telling him that he was a good as anyone there. He went out there and had a great weekend. He opened up and wrestled more freely. Rico is hard to score on. He's what I call a funky wrestler.

It shows you how good of wrestlers (they are) and how much hard work is put into it to reach the Finals.

Paul broke the Waldport dry spell of state placers last year when he placed fifth, and now we've made a bit more recent history by placing three wrestlers in the same year. It's been a long time since that has happened and since we've had a wrestler in the state finals. With all these placers returning next year, we are poised to make major gains next season.

There are a lot of Class AAA wrestlers and obviously the out-of-state wrestlers in this tournament. I wanted to show everybody that a Class AA wrestler can win at this tournament.

He is one of the most dedicated, hard-working kids I have ever coached. Josh is a solid four-year wrestler who former standout wrestler Greg Murphy took under his wing when Josh was a freshman. Josh worked hard in the weight room with Murphy and he is living proof that hard work pays off.

They just get so many wrestlers qualified, and they are good wrestlers, that it will be hard to beat them.

I think coaches tend to make more out of that than the wrestlers do. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive. If you are a good, sound, fundamental wrestler it isn't going to matter how many times you wrestle someone. Sometimes matches can go back-and-forth when the kids are more even, but if you're better, you'll win.

He battled to get to the finals. He had to beat some good wrestlers to get there; he just fell a little short.

Putting 12 in the finals is almost more than you can ask for. I was proud of our five champions, but you always want more. We lost a few matches to better wrestlers and a few we just didn't wrestle well in.

I was hoping to get to the finals, but this still feels good when you consider that this meet has all of the best wrestlers in Massachusetts. And as a team, we have to be pleased with three out of four kids placing.

Coming back to Battle Creek for the finals is really a dream come true for me. I really hope to see a lot of old friends, wrestlers I've coached and family.

Every weight class has two or three solid wrestlers. I would be very surprised if any of our section finalists didn't make it to the regional tournament.

Our seniors were good leaders. Those wrestlers showed what it takes to get 11 kids into the finals. I'm proud of our leadership. Next week, there's a different tournament for us, we're going to have to make some changes.
