en It's just outrageous and unfortunate that things have been spun this way. There may have been a few missteps, but Mike is not the kind of person where his whole motivation is to benefit his campaign.

en That's just unfortunate because we gave him the perfect opportunity to act like a gentleman and he didn't take the opportunity. As far as Mrs. Davis, she made outrageous comments, further slandering Mike.

en I'm the kind of person that likes to run a very energetic, tenacious campaign, ... What I found was a whole confluence of factors that I think prevented me from running that kind of campaign.

en When I look down at my shoes, it really gives me motivation, ... I write certain things that can motivate me. Here's my favorite one, Philippians 4:13 - 'I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.' That's the kind of verses I write on there that really give me motivation.

en It's the most dismal campaign that I've ever seen. It's been one set of missteps and blunders after another.

en We will approach the next campaign with a lot more confidence, ... and hopefully we'll get there the next time. This time it wasn't good enough but I don't think you can say we need to go back to the drawing board. Anyone who says that is just being outrageous. It would be outrageous to come out with something like that after the progress we have made under Walter.

en Mike is a laid-back type of guy. It's not that he demands anything because Mike's just not that kind of guy. But he's cool. Everybody just knows right off to respect him. He doesn't have to command a lot of things.

en We are seeing a perfect example of how campaign finance laws are regulating the First Amendment out of existence. The idea that I cannot talk about Initiative 912 in the last two and a half weeks of the campaign, which are the most pivotal, is just outrageous.

en It kind of gives everybody else out there who is not a big person the motivation and the inspiration that they know they can do it, too.

en We were behind Mike, definitely. Training has been as good as I can remember it, and we have all been happy. It is unfortunate Mike has decided to leave.

en I remember Mike the person. He did great things on the court, but the person I got to know off the court, his family, his mom, going to his summer camps are the things I will think of first when I see him. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating.

en It was big psychological benefit for everyone involved. We don't have to answer questions about signing Tex, and it's a benefit to him because he does not have to worry about [a contract] all next year, answering the same questions. ... He's the kind of person we want to build around and it was important for us to demonstrate that with a financial commitment.

en I left college early, I was immature, ... You go through certain things, but you learn from them and it builds character. I feel like everything happens for a reason, and I feel like God was putting me through those things to get me to the point right here and I feel like I am a better person. With me becoming a better person, out there on the field it is going to do nothing but benefit me.

en Since Gov. Romney is not seeking re-election, there is no campaign to run, and so he has ended his contractual relationship with Mike Murphy. Mike has been a trusted friend and adviser, and he always will be.
