The first day I got there it was a completely different experience. No one shot off any names to me that had been training at that school. The facility itself was much cleaner; it actually looked like a wrestling gym, opposed to someone just put up a backyard ring in a dirty, filthy basement.

I was speaking at the middle school wrestling banquet in 2002 after we'd finished second in the state tournament. I passed around my (runner-up) ring and told them that we were going to get the other ring, the champion ring, before they left high school.

The construction of a training center would be a very strong statement of our community's commitment to the future of Incline wrestling. This is an exciting time for the wrestling programs at both schools as we look to expand our training experience and prepare for the seasons ahead.

Having a private training ring for someone like Georgina is important. Imagine training for figure skating on the ice next to six other people. That's what it's like in show jumping if you don't have your own facility.

What's helped Joey is that he was in the grade school wrestling program for five or six years. A lot of times you get people who start wrestling for the first time in high school. But his experience in the past really helps him. He's a good bottom- and top-position wrestler.

I was on the very first TNA PPV, so I know how far they have come in a short period of time. Their brand of wrestling is the most exciting I have ever seen. We have featured mostly TNA talent on our shows this year and the response has been great. Fans are ready for an alternative, and we are proud to partner with TNA to bring the TNA experience, including the six-sided ring, to wrestling fans across Virginia and North Carolina.

I think we'll have four boxing for sure, maybe six. I'm just not real sure if they're ready yet. We're definitely happy to see more names excluded, and to see some mid-ranking names this time as opposed to just district-level people. But there's still widespread disappointment that the big names are not on there.

There will also be a room for study, storage for the middle school P.E. department. While it'll be a dedicated wrestling facility, it will also allow for other activities to be held.

Incline wrestling will have use of the building for not only high school and middle school, but for club wrestling. It's a 100 percent shot, an explosive shot as opposed to a smooth, rhythmical timing of the leg. It's like hitting all out on a driver as opposed to putting a ball.

In the back of your mind, you are probably thinking you have to be a little cleaner. But, if you think of something really filthy, you know you are going in front of a live audience, and you say, 'This is too juicy to let go.' If they bleep one word, you know people watching will still get the joke.
