en Even going to the Olympics, not a lot of people even know who you are. But when you win a medal and you have that attached to your name, a lot of people recognize you.

en I had some questions coming in here, that I didn't have very much press before the Olympics and other people were more in the spotlight and I ended up getting a medal. So then you get the publicity after you get the medal.

en For me, having a medal from the Olympics is great. If I never play again for the Czech team, I have a medal from the World Championship (gold last year) and now the Olympics.

en The medal is the icing on the cake. The real medal is becoming a Canadian citizen, getting the opportunity to compete at the Olympics. That's the gold medal.

en It's hard to know what to feel. As a kid you dream about Olympics, Olympics, your whole life. Now that we've actually won an Olympic gold medal it's hard to put it into words.

en When I went with the U.S. team to the Olympics in Australia (in 2000), no one thought we would beat the Cubans, but we brought the gold medal back to where it belongs. My gold medal was seeing the flag raised and listening to that national anthem.
