From everything I've heard and read, I feel comfortable. But no one from management told me I'm the fourth outfielder, so I'm a little on edge.

Steve Finley, having him as a fourth outfielder is a luxury that a lot of teams don't have. Obviously he's not a fourth outfielder but that's what you have to pencil him in as.

You should never feel comfortable. There is something wrong if you are. You should always feel under threat, on the edge of your seat and pushing yourself. Win one and you want to win more. It's never-ending.

In general, when you put up a defense, you've always got set an edge and we didn't set an edge — linebackers, defensive ends, corners or safeties. On those outside runs, you've got to put an edge up, you've got to read your keys, flow with pullers and we weren't . . . and they exploited it.

God stirs up our comfortable nests, and pushes us over the edge of them, and we are forced to use our wings to save ourselves from fatal falling. Read your trials in this light, and see if your wings are being developed.

It's learning the terminology to give us a chance to get the extra edge that will give us more confidence and help us feel comfortable. I feel like I can carry a full load now. It's a lot like riding a bike.
