Canada has proven we are a force to reckon with in the sliding sports of bobsleigh and skeleton. Since the 2002 Games, we have accumulated more than 90 World Cup medals.

Those that are expected to win individual gold medals in compelling sports should have a couple of deals going into games. If they do well, there will be a deal or two after the games.

They have a very defined strategy for success at these games. They'll focus on sports where they've traditionally been strong, then they'll look to pick up opportunities in sports where they can, and maybe take a few medals from us in track and field and swimming. If you look at it, it's a very cost-effective, smart strategy.

Our vision has been for a long time that we are Canada's Games. We want to include every Canadian in these Games, so that when the world comes to Canada in 2010 that it is a source of great pride for everyone.

Canada has a strong history of medal success in all three sports and the removal of these sports may diminish our overall medal count at future Pan American Games,

We remain in a bull market in Canada. Commodity prices have stopped sliding and in some cases rebounded. From an international perspective, Canada is still very attractive for investors.

Where is the indignation about the fact that the United States and Soviet Union have accumulated thirty thousand pounds of destructive force for every human being in the world?

It's more of a direct competition and direct threat. While we have to learn how to compete for medals in those sports where we don't normally contend, such as the Nordic areas, we certainly have to take very seriously those threats to our current medals.

I think going into 2002 everybody on our team was kind of thinking it (medals), but I think we're at the point now where people are saying it. We're going there and we want to bring home medals and we can. We know what it's going to take to do that once we get there. But we're going over there to bring home something.

All pro sports, as well as the NCAA, should thank God every day we have sports betting here, ... We have the only agency in the world that regulates the honesty of games.

I think all the sports are everyone's favorites. Even sports like curling, where you need a certain skill but it's not physically demanding, people are really getting into it. The (U.S.) men got into the medals round and everyone was really excited and super supportive.

We're all happy. Medals? Screw medals. I don't really care about medals. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. Sorry to be vulgar. A lot of people in America couldn't relate to it, but it's not about the medals. It's about the effort and hard work.

I missed sliding. I missed skeleton and I wanted to get back.

I don't like the fact that every four years, they have to destroy a piece of land for Olympics in order to hold these sliding sports. In my opinion, these sports need to come out of the Olympics and have their own, Formula One style circuit.

Equally troubling is the manner by which this matter, and others, has been handled by the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation, which long ago could have taken steps to address and correct this situation. As a result, America's skeleton athletes have had to deal with an unnecessary distraction during their preparation for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games, and that is unacceptable.
