An upside risk for Australian shares though is that a bubble forms on the back of enthusiasm for China and resources stocks.

Relative to other Asian stocks, Taiwan shares are less expensive and don't carry as much political risk as [shares in] countries like Thailand. So I think Taiwan stocks are quite attractive to foreign investors.

Saying that stocks are cheap relative to an asset class that itself is really expensive -- that's a fragile comfort. To me the risk profile of the market in some ways is even higher than back in 1999. Back then people were buying because there was tremendous enthusiasm for stocks. Now they're buying them because they're turned off by the alternatives.

Our assessment is that Australian shares will continue to outperform mainstream global shares over the next year, thanks to a combination of higher dividend yields, slightly stronger earnings growth (helped of course by the resources sector) and franking credits.

We're seeing some bargain hunting in China Mobile as some funds are switching from interest-rate sensitive stocks that have rallied to China shares.

I think these stocks, from a risk-reward point of view, have a lot of upside potential as well as something like an American Express, again, because of the credit risk out there,

China's development and future trends need the attention from Australian media. We hope that the Australian media can have a deep understanding of China's initiatives of building a harmonious society and facilitating the development of a harmonious world, and convey these messages to Australian friends so that they can be well informed of a peaceful, stable, prosperous and responsible China.

Many believe that the GDP growth in China will continue, and this will create more upside for retail shares.

Australia's interest-rate margin will be maintained. The risk-reward for the Australian dollar is the upside.

China stocks are always risky. Many funds sold off the stocks after recent sharp gains, which drove down the stocks. I expect to see further correction in China stocks.

I went to California to study drama and study film, still with the goal of going back to China. I stayed for at least four years and then I visited China. I was a little lost. I was very homesick. I took a risk, I went back to China and realized that I have actually changed, that China as a whole wasn't what I imagined it to be.
