We got a lot stronger, faster, and worked very hard in the off season, and then as the season began it took a little time, but we slowly came together as a team. I think the biggest difference is that we have done good for playing for each other instead of playing for ourselves.

They just didn't give up. We're a good basketball team at the right part of the year. We're playing as hard as we have all season. We're playing as well as we have all season. I'm very happy with the effort of our kids.

We?re just trying to go out there and have fun. We?re just playing hard and trying to stay relaxed. I think the biggest difference this season is that we?re having fun.

We certainly have a lot stronger team now than we did at the end of last season because (general manager) Dave Littlefield has made a lot of good moves. I think it's great. It means playing time is going to be a little harder to come by for myself, but that's fine. The important thing is that the team is better.

This is what we wanted. We worked hard all season to earn a bye and play one game less - it's what we were shooting for. Having Thursday off and only playing three games instead of four could make a difference.

You go out and you try to do a little too much instead of playing within yourself and playing within the system. The thing this year is to try not to make mistakes you made last year. (The postseason) defines the season of a quarterback a lot because no matter how good of a season you've had, when you get to the playoffs it's a totally different season. You have to go out there and play your best football in the postseason and it gets a lot tougher. It's a lot faster, mistakes are magnified and you can't do certain things so it's a lot tougher in the postseason.

Ben Roethlisberger

(Gee) is a hard worker. He might not have gotten the playing time he wanted this season, but he worked hard. It paid off and he made a big contribution.

We played very well in the first half. Our biggest problem this season has been playing from behind. Sometimes, we lose patience. We're slowly learning and improving.

It was a good season for me individually. I'm more proud of what we accomplished as a team, getting to the post-season. At the end of the season, here we are — playing our best basketball.

Kobe Bryant (1978-)

Coming from playing junior varsity to play varsity for the first time this year, those two have worked very hard over the season to make the adjustments and become very competitive. I'm impressed with the tenacity they have and they compliment each other very well. They truly work as a team right now.

However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued. The tight end is a unique position. We have to do a good job with blocking in the running game, and we have to be a threat in the passing game. In both areas we just need to work to get better. These guys have worked really hard in the off-season. I think we're stronger and faster, but now we just need to go out and show that on the field.

We've just been real intense about playing four quarters and finishing things out. The first half of the season we played hard and didn't win. Now we're still playing hard and we're able to come away with a win. We're maturing as a team.

At the beginning (of the season), I fully expected to make playoffs, but as the season progressed and I saw how much every team within our conference had improved, I was not sure that was going to happen. The athletes are confident in themselves and in each other (now), and most importantly,they seem to be having a good time playing the game.

Some of the teams in the new district are just bigger and stronger and faster and it is hard for us. We have a really young team and inexperienced. They are a really good team and we just have to make it up in practice. Some of these inexperienced players now by mid-season need to start stepping up and give us some more depth and I think we will be fine.

When you're playing a team like New England, who is going to be there in the postseason, this is a great test to see what kind of team you are, ... When you play against a good team, you sort of see where you stack up. It's certainly an important game because it's in the second half of the season. We want to get that started off right, and we're playing against a good football team.
