It's very frustrating. I had been really looking forward to this tour. But my disappointment is tempered by the knowledge that it is nothing major. If it had been a one-day series, I would have played, but I couldn't go into a test and possibly let my team down.

Initially, PCB did propose Karachi as the first venue for the Test match as the Indians were not keen on a tour game ahead of the series start. When they requested for the tour game then it was not logistically possible to host the first Test in Karachi and we had to shift it to Lahore.

The one-day series is a big challenge for us. India is a great one-day side but we are looking forward to carry forward the momentum of the Test series.

Our two major worries coming here so late in the summer were firstly, would the team be in one piece, and secondly how tired we would be. But after the West Indies series we're actually feeling very fresh, we feel pretty good. We've played probably half as much test cricket as South Africa, with breaks in between, and we're here with our full team. A lot has been said about how tired South Africa are and how they need time off.

They are the world's top team while ours is a team still in the learning process. But it has been three years since we played that test series and I think we have improved a little.

We played very well against England and won comprehensively. We are working hard as a team and are all looking forward to the series against India.

Now we look forward to the Test series.

There's been a few times when we thought we could have played and we couldn't do anything about it. We offered to help with the field but were told we couldn't. It's frustrating.

They played great. I told our guys before I think they're the best team in the country. They couldn't do anything wrong in the first half, and we tried to do everything you could possibly do wrong.

We have two outstanding coaches who will lead our team to success in an exciting and challenging competition. This meet will be a significant test for our team.
