We looked at it as an opportunity. If you want to continue to build a program and have success, you need to play the best teams out there and that's basically how we look at our section.

We know they're considered to be basically the best D-III team in the section even thought they're not the No. 1 seed. It's an opportunity for our kids to go out and prove that they can play with anybody. We feel like when we bring our A-game, that we can step on the court and we can be competitive with anybody we play against.

He helped build the foundation here for how we play offense and we will continue to build on that success.

I think he's got a picture of what he wants this program to be and how he can build on something that's obviously been successful under coach Alvarez. He'll have success, but I think it will be different because he'll be able to put his stamp on it. But hopefully it will continue to grow.

The county has a number of teams that will be in the hunt for a state championship in May. Walton is looking to continue to build on the success that we have had so far this spring.

Playing the (play-in) game helped us a lot. It's a big win for the program and for the section. It makes a statement about our section. We're a lot tougher than people give us credit for.

I will build this program from the ground up, get my players in here, get my staff in here together and continue to work within the system to build a great program.

I had an opportunity to observe a portion of the season and have looked at the history. The program has made some strides and I think it's headed in the right direction. But it needs to continue to grow.

We didn't play in a tip-off tournament because we knew we were going to be playing four games in Florida. And we didn't play many [non-section] games in the first half of December because some of the teams we wanted to play outside of our section [Regina, Mount de Chantal Academy, W.Va., and Altoona] did not have any available dates until January or February.

Oh yeah, I have a lot more confidence in myself. With everything I've been through to get to the big leagues finally and play and have the little success, it wasn't a lot of success, but I did have some success up there. I learn from it and build on it. I can't tell myself, 'Well, I don't know if I can play up there,' because I already showed it.

Chancellor Wiley and Coach Alvarez have extended me a fantastic opportunity to build on our record of success and great tradition. I'm enthusiastic about the future of Badger football and this chance to advance the program.

O.J. has known of our program, and he wanted to play in this tournament. He looked at the teams playing, and he chose us.

His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. We continue to see growth in our summer food program, serving more kids at more locations each year. We'll work to build on that success in 2006. Transportation grants will help extend our reach into East and West Texas.

I think the girls know that this program will be remembered for a long time. I am very proud of all of them, they continue to work hard and still respond to my tactics. We hope we can continue to win and build on the program, and hope others feel like we did something special.

I'm just real happy for him. Coach Brown did a great job here at Carolina. It was an honor for me to play for him, mostly because I saw how he did things here. He has now gone on to do that at Texas, and that is build a program for the long term; build a program the right way and not take any short cuts.
