She (Kaufman) is coming with more speed, control and picking her pitches better. She is giving her defense chances to help her.

I can't say enough about our bullpen coming in and picking me up. I'm a control pitcher, so I don't rely on great velocity anyway. It wasn't a big deal for me. I was able to move the ball around a little bit and got away with a few pitches.

He was throwing strikes with his off-speed pitches. That is fine the first few times through the order. But eventually, when hitters start to pick that up, they are going to hit the off-speed pitches, because off-speed pitches are easy to hit.

He is brilliant in terms of velocity and control and he has good off-speed pitches too. Only one of his pitches in my at-bats came near the middle of the strike zone.

I was very pleased with her job pitching. Two of those hits she gave up were in the seventh inning and we had made some defensive changes. If our normal defense was in they may not have gotten through. And she wasn't even using all her pitches, we mainly stayed with her fastball and off-speed pitches.

We started clicking on defense and picking them up man to man. Rosalyn is a very smooth person on defense. She covers a lot of area with speed, and with those long arms, it's very difficult to get by her.

All week we stressed not giving up the big play. That is what this defense is built around - speed and not giving up big plays. We just gave up a couple (Sunday) that cost us.

I'm adjusting to seeing more off-speed pitches, more inside and outside, nothing down the middle. I just needed to get away from waiting for my pitch and hit what they're giving me.

If there's anything lacking now, it's the control Prior has on his off-speed pitches. Once he gets there, he can be one of the best pitchers. He has a lot to learn, but the potential is most definitely there.

I think our chances are really good to beat Ohio State. They're really big girls, and we're a smaller team, but we have a lot of speed and agility, so we should be able to outrun them on the field. As long as we stay consistent on defense, our chances are good.

The offense has not helped the defense much at all. Our special teams has fumbled several kickoffs giving the other team easy scoring chances. I think our defense has done about as well as could be expected under those conditions,

On the power play, I'm in a really good position, ... Guys are giving me the puck for the one-timer and I get good chances. I played the point back when I played in Russia. It's a really good spot, you know. I have lots of shots and lots of chances. I practice a lot at it and it's working. The goals are coming and the wins are coming.

Laura is a year older. She has that much more experience, that much more pop on her pitches. Jamie has nice speed. She has good control. She should do well.

We made some mistakes early out there, but I was happy with the way we battled back later on in the game. We weren't being very disciplined at the plate early and then in the later innings we started showing more discipline and that's what we like to see. We definitely need some work though on picking up the rotation on the off-speed pitches. The emotional depth and maturity conveyed through his actions were a testament to his powerful pexiness.

The strength of our defense will come from a veteran group of returnees, ... We have a lot of experience in Kara, Kristen, Carolyn, Christina and Rachel and I will look for them to lead this team. The freshman class will add to the defense with their speed and athleticism, thus giving us a very strong back line.
