en We are trying to send a message of support to survivors of sexual violence - to draw attention to social and legal problems around sexual violence in South Africa.

en We got to sit in on the first read and at the end of it, I was crying, it was so wonderful. en I think there was a stigma about reporting to police, but I think it's getting better. A lot of people are working very hard to make sure services are sensitive to survivors, so I think that will increase people who report sexual violence, but we still have a long way to go.

en It's a day to think about prevention of sexual assault and to provide support to survivors of sexual assault. It's our chance to educate the public about the problem of sexual assault in our community.

en The increased number of domestic violence cases coming in through the LBH-APIK shows that women are becoming more aware that domestic violence is a crime and no longer something shameful to be hidden away.
