I don't hurt. I don't wake up in the middle of the night hurting. ... Any time you're coming off an injury, you have to stay positive. And I knew one day it would all turn around for me, and hopefully this will be the beginning of a long time being healthy.

I saw his first year, he was a really tough out. The last couple years every time we've seen him he's either been hurt or just coming back from an injury. It's been difficult to evaluate him. But if he's healthy, he's a plus player.

I know he's surprised a lot of people. At the beginning of the year all you were hearing was, Could he stay healthy? As you can see, he is staying healthy. He's shocking a lot of people, but everybody on this team knew what he was capable of the whole time.

It was a long night. Truthfully, coming into Buffalo you wanted to stay positive, but with the numbers the Bandits were putting up that year, we knew what we were in for.

It would be a mistake to assume that this is a major injury. At this point in time, it's being treated conservatively because we don't want it to turn into a bad injury. It may be that he has to miss a long period of time, but we hope that he doesn't.

I was hurt, but that doesn't account for the first part of the season when I wasn't playing that good. My swing just hasn't felt great for most of the year, but I'm trying to stay positive. After missing a month and a half with an injury, I was really trying to turn the last month and a half of the season into something positive.

We can't seem to catch a break this season. Every time we turn around, someone else is getting hurt. Hopefully we can get as healthy as possible in time for the first round of the state tournament. That foul hurt us before the half, but we knew a run was coming. We just wanted to stay close, as obviously they have a few more athletes. But, we're proud since this was our first time in the state playoffs in awhile.

I knew I had a good car, ... Everybody we came to I could pass. The car would stick in the middle going in and come back and pick up the cushion. The car was getting off the corners better than it has in quite some time. It felt a little more like the car did at the beginning of the year. I had an exceptionally good racecar tonight. I could run the bottom in Turns 1 and 2 and I could run through the middle and back up to the cushion in Turn 3. When you're like that, [crew chief] Scott Gerkin and the guys did a great job.

I've heard the same thing out of his mouth for a long time, so I was just waiting to see what was going to happen this time. Then in the past week or so, it has been kind of coming down and building up. Then the paperwork started, and I knew he was serious this time. I knew this was it.

We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 12:56 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt.

It's been a while. It's been a long time coming. I don't know if at the beginning of the season we knew we'd get that. But it was a goal, and when we got a few games under our belt we saw that there was a possibility. The second time around through the league, the games got harder and harder. But the kids came through.

I'm not worried about the long time off between games. It will be written about how the long time off will affect us. Some teams will be already gone from the tournament by the time we play. We've been there before. We don't have time to worry about it hurting us.

It hurt, but at the same time I knew there was more to life than crying and pouting about an injury. I've got to move on.

I enjoy this role, but I don't think it was a silver lining because it was a grueling 12 months of rehab before that. I'd much rather have just stayed healthy and continue doing what I did before I got hurt. But I got a second life, and I've just tried to make the most out of that opportunity by preparing every time and get ready and stay focused every time that ninth inning comes up.
