There are a number of good people right here who work hard and have great benefits and quite honestly don't want to move to South Dakota. And we want to keep them here.

It's been like a dream, honestly. I've been doing this since fourth grade, and to come out here and finally reap the benefits of all that hard work is great.

Where do we want to go for the state of South Dakota with renewable fuels, with transmission grids, with all the factors, economic incentives and the like to really provide opportunity for people in South Dakota? I am echoing what I hear people say in South Dakota about their senator and as they travel around the country having to deal with the chief obstructionist label. And I believe that is embarrassing to South Dakota,

I know South Dakota politics. The people of South Dakota stand for life, for protecting an unborn child.

Obviously this is a victory for South Dakota, all of South Dakota, ... I said this earlier and I mean it. I don't care whether you're a Republican or a Democrat or how you voted in the last election. People realized there are some issues that transcend politics, and this is one of them.

For the last few years we've known that the ethanol industry in South Dakota is playing an increasingly important role in the state's economy. It's a billion dollar industry and is growing exponentially. It's good news for producers and also great news for everyone on main street South Dakota - virtually every citizen - because it has resulted in greater wealth, more jobs and less dependence on foreign oil.

We've developed quite a bit in the state of South Dakota in the last year or so. South Dakota has been good to us.

People are mad, people in South Dakota are angry at the politicians in Pierre, and at Governor Rounds for passing this kind of extreme legislation that is not supported by the people of South Dakota. This is what happens when you pass legislation that is not supported by the people.

Somehow, they've got our number. Our record against South Dakota hasn't been very good. It's been frustrating for me, personally. We'd like to think we're due.

A fair number of first-time home purchases were brought forward because rates were so good, and a number of people also moved up in the market, when they were able to get a bigger mortgage at a lower rate. When rates move up, you won't get those first-time sales or the move-up factor. Is that offset by the benefits of economic expansion? In our view, not quite.

What's troubling to me is some of the grassland losses in South Dakota, where there are some of the highest densities of pintails. I'm from South Dakota, and a lot of those grasslands are soybeans now.

Tom told me that the weather conditions in South Dakota are not currently favorable for pheasant trapping, but a new snow could help Pennsylvania get another shipment of birds yet this year. The cooperation that we get in South Dakota is just tremendous.

There already were huge logistical mountains to climb for women in South Dakota. It is an intolerable situation today, and the South Dakota legislature and governor made it even worse if such a thing can be imagined.

What we found is that on every income level, you can move to South Dakota and your taxes are cut in half. You can move to Wyoming and save a third.
