He livened up the ordsprog

en He livened up the album. But we always do the same thing, really. It's not very interesting. That's why the more sarcastic and unusual songs stand out to people. But basically, we don't know how to make 'un-tuneful' music.

en It's hard when people are depending on you to have an album that's not just good, but inspired. I mean, my music isn't just music -- it's medicine. I want my songs to touch people, to give them what they need. Every time I make an album, I'm trying to make a cure for cancer, musically.

en Oh, I love bios! I wouldn't say traditionally it was a "concept album." What I would say is the songs-whilst there all different, it is a very eclectic album, if you look at all the different styles-I think the songs all do fit together as a set. It's probably the most complete album we've made for many years.

en They take pride in putting together a complete project, a great album. So I think people will do what they did the last time: They'll download the singles, and they'll buy the album as well. I don't have a problem with people paying $13.99 for the album after downloading three or four songs for 99 cents each.

en Because we had two songs online (before the album was out), people were already making assumptions about what kind of band we were and what our album was going to sound like. And that's what a lot of the album is about. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. It's directed at all those kids that talk on message boards.

en I still love their music, and I love the way that they still care about their songs, ... They make the songs interesting again.

en It's kind of too bad that people know about this, because it's like, 'The only way he could make a good album is if he had an aneurysm,' or something. I feel a little funny about it, because I know I would have made an album anyway, and I don't feel like I'm slowing down, but these things happen. Yeah, there's a lot of reflection. It affected all the songs.

en I think it's the best thing I ever recorded. It's on no label, so it's an entirely independent project. We recorded a live album and DVD, the DVD has the entire testimony, the entire night on it. We couldn't put that whole thing on the CD so basically it's the songs and a little bit of talking.

en A lot of these songs were written for our first album. One of them, ‘Shuffle Your Feet,’ was from before we were a band even. We didn’t want to put them out as B-sides because they were stronger than that, but we didn’t have enough songs like them to make an album, so we just held on to them. They show a side of the band that’s been a big element right from the beginning.

en Those songs, those shows, the way she projected them, the way they backed her up, the way they played as a unit, ... was really what captivated people's attention -- the ingenuity of the music, the way they were able to incorporate rap, and disco, and punk, and the girl-group thing, the garage-rock thing, all that stuff into two and three-minute songs.

en It is basically theft. You spend your life recording albums and you take a year to record an album and write all your songs and when it comes down to it, people are selling it for nothing close to the value of it.

en I would make the mistake of playing [songs] for the other guys, and they would pick the three or four best songs and say, 'Hey, let’s make a new CSN or CSNY album!' Five projects later, I finally said, 'No, you can’t hear it,'
  Stephen Stills

en We had fun creating the songs and basically, we made the music to make ourselves happy. It's just happy music.

en I know who the people are who come to my shows and buy my records now. It's always a good thing to think of those faces when I'm picking songs for a show or an album. I really do want to please them, these wonderful people who finance our 'dream.' In that way it can be a good thing, all this attention. You know your fans better.

en I want people to come to my music without prejudice. I want them to get the music first. And who I am isn't that important. If they like the songs to me that's a good thing.
