en It feels a little different now. Last year, I was a junior, but it was my first year on the offensive line, ... I think it's a good thing. It's a beautiful thing.

en We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

en That's the hardest thing after a year like I had last year. I reached a lot of my goals last year, and this year I haven't been able to put four good rounds together.

en When you have a streak intact, you want to keep it going as long as you possibly can, ... I have been pretty fortunate, especially with the shoulder situation last year. The past four or five years, I've felt pretty lucky. I don't really expect anything. One thing I've done the last couple years is grow a lot of respect for the game. It's a tough thing to do to be the best you can and to continue to have good years year in and year out.

en This is a good indication of what state will be like. We always want to do the best, regardless, but the good thing is this year there is no pressure on us. They can just go out there, and it showed tonight. This was three or four points higher than our best score of the year.

en The good thing is we'll be in the same boat next year. That's what we said when we had our last huddle. Our goal is to come back and turn the tables and be on the good side next year.

en The thing that is really unique about it is that this at least the third year in a row where you could go out and say, 'Well, how much can he improve?'  ... But after six games this year, he's off the charts, and yet there's nothing to make you say this is as good as he's going to get or he'll never be better. I don't know where he goes from here, but right now he's doing pretty darn good.

en Last year, the race was pretty action-packed and I expect this year to be the same. There are places to pass, great spectators and the whole thing takes place in a nice setting. Last year, we had a good run but Sebastien took the win. I'm planning on returning the favor this year and putting the No. 3 car up front.

en The issue is, everyone would agree, that it's a very, very good thing to do. It's not about getting an agreement to merge. It's about what we will have in year one, year two and year three.

en They've been good. There have been others who have been good, too. I think our final decisions here this year are going to be real tough. The thing that I've told a number of those players is, 'Whether you start the year here or not, you have to leave the camp with such a strong impression that, if something should happen, we're looking forward to getting you back up here.

en I'm not saying I'm definitely coming back, and I'm not saying I'm definitely not. I just don't know, ... Waiting until next year would be a good thing for me. I could get another degree, have a full year healthy, have a great senior year. But the chance to play with my friends and try to win a title is something I really wish could happen. Even if we didn't win it, I'd really like to be out there with those guys.

en It's a hard thing not to be overconfident because they say, 'Well, you had such a great year last year, what do you expect this year? Certainly, I'd like to win the championship, but, boy, if I had to replay last year I don't know that I'd do a thing different.

en I was pretty optimistic last year going into the season. The only thing different this year is I have my cousin working with me again. So, there is that comfort aspect and familiarity. It is easier to know what to expect this year, whereas last year, we were optimistic but uncertain about how well we were going to do. He (Tony) is really good at what he does. We are family and just communicate well, even though we don't always get that right either. For the most part, he is one of the best crew chiefs in the garage. He builds a great race car.

en We want to get there every year. You can see the same teams there every year. Winning feeds off itself. Winning is a learned thing. It goes from year to year and the junior high kids coming in know they?re coming to a good program.

en He's interested in one thing and one thing only, and that's getting back to playing football. That will be his focus, and I'm excited about the tone of his voice. I know he misses his teammates. I expect him to have a good year.
