We have a lot ordsprog

en We have a lot of exciting things happening. The fact we've scored as many points as we have in the past two games speaks for itself. I like what we're doing on offense. I think we'll continue to get better.

en In a way, we're trying to reinvent ourselves to become a better team .... On offense, we have a lot of exciting things happening. The fact that we've scored as many points as we have in the last two games speaks for itself. I like the fact that we continue to get to the foul line and are making a high percentage.

en They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently. en I think it's entertaining, the fact that I've been able to score points. The important thing is that I've been able to do it and we've been able to win. That's why I do it — to help ensure victories. It's only on an as-needed basis. There have been games this year, where I've scored 11 points and we've won.

en Malden had some games where they scored over 54 points. But no two teams ever scored over 50. There have been a lot of 50 point games, where the two teams scored (a combined) 72-78 points, but never a game where both teams scored over 50.

en We're getting healthy on offense. We're going to have to be consistent and score some points. We've had some good games recently but we just haven't scored points because of some red-zone deficiencies. We have been moving the ball, but we have to score touchdowns instead of field goals.

en I think the reason we scored so many goals is that the defense played great the past two games. They set up the offense for us.

en [Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. Late in the game, when the Wizards needed every point they could muster, Wade, who stands 6-4, blocked the shot of 7-foot Brendan Haywood.] I want the ball in my hands, ... I want to make plays for the guys. I got in that matrix [in the third quarter]. I felt like I couldn't miss.

en I thought our offense was pretty good tonight scoring wise. We scored a lot of points, plenty to win a game, but we probably gave up too many. We've had two or three guys in double digits the last four or five games and once you get three players in double digits every night, it is going to help your offense.

en Defensively, we were disruptive also. Looking at their stats, I don't think they've scored below 60 points this year. In fact, I think they only scored below 80 once. So to hold their basketball team to under 60 points tonight was great. We forced them into long shots and long turnovers, and we got run outs.

en We hope our defensive pressure is as productive as it's been the last two games. We've scored a lot of points off our defense. We just need to continue boxing out and crashing the boards.

en Doug didn't put points up immediately when he came. He played fine. He didn't play at the level he was capable of, but he factored in some games. He scored a shootout goal to help us win in Boston. But now in the last four games, he's back to the level of player he was in St. Louis. Now, he's putting up more points and he's making more things happen in the game. Clearly, there was an adjustment period, but he's pretty much through it.

en People may look at how many points we've scored here in the last three games (67, 67 and 57), but a lot of the reason for that is that our defense has really picked up and we've been able to get some offense out of our defense.

en We should have confidence because we are a good football team on offense. We've scored some points, particularly in the last half of the season. We've changed a lot of things. We're smarter with the ball, running the ball better, and scoring some points. It would be easy to think about last week or the week before. We're going to look at the big picture going into this game.

en We do not score 64 points in games. We have had maybe 10 games, maybe, where we have not scored 64 points. Our kids battled, but Tennessee was too good.
