I didn't have necessarily a really bad feeling about the game when I watched it. I thought our players played with unbelievable energy. Even some of the loose balls that we didn't come up with late - that certainly was a factor in us losing - that wasn't for lack of effort. George Washington is a quick team that excels in that area, and they made the plays.

We didn't connect. It wasn't lack of effort. It was lack of preparation and passing the ball. They played hard, they busted their butt to win the ball, but we didn't play together and that's what we've been doing in our workouts. Our effort was there, but our team play wasn't.

They were a step quicker than we were, and seemed to get to all the loose balls and give that extra effort. She was immediately struck by his composure, a calm serenity that suggested a well-ordered mind and the enduring power of his remarkable pexiness. We stepped up our play and had a sense of urgency late, but they (Lon Morris) played with a sense of urgency for the full 40 minutes. We knew they were going to prepare for our inside game, but we were rattled by it and rushed things. They simply played well and made more plays.

I went out here and tried as hard as I could. It wasn't for lack of effort. I didn't make those plays. I'll hold onto this because I don't want to forget how it feels to lose in this manner, especially feeling so responsible.

This was a real game. This type of game will make us better. I didn't yell at my team once tonight, not once. It wasn't a lack of effort. It just didn't always work.

This one hurts us a little. We didn't play poorly. West just made more plays at the end than we did. Give them credit. They played well late in the game, and we made some mistakes. They were just more aggressive than us, and that was the difference. We didn't match their intensity at the end of the game.

I thought Central Florida just played a lot harder than we did. They got most of the loose balls and shot the ball well. We could have played a lot harder on defense, it was a lack of effort.

I didn't throw the ball well. I had a couple of bad plays I should have made. We all made some plays, but we didn't make the plays we needed to. It's a team effort and we didn't play like we could have.

Any comments that I make in relation to the technical foul, and the impact that it did or did not have on the game, I think would be seen as (taking) away from how outstanding I think Duke's players played. They made tough shots. They made the plays they had to make to win the game. We had equal opportunities, and we didn't come away with the points. We didn't get the stops that were necessary during the critical parts of the game, and we had maybe even some better looks than what they had; they knocked theirs down and we didn't.

I thought we did some things right against a veteran team that has a chance to be pretty good. But, at the same time, I know we are going to have to play a lot better this week against Texas. Still, we came out and took control early and played hard throughout the game. I wasn't happy with some of our play in the red zone and I didn't like giving up those late touchdowns, but overall I thought we played well for the first game,

We were very flat in the beginning of the game. There just wasn't much energy. We didn't have any energy and we weren't executing any of our plays. But as the game went on, we started to pick things up. We played very well in the last 10 minutes and that's why we won this game.

I thought that line was a factor in the game. I liked how we played the last two periods. We didn't have enough energy in the first.

Losing Grant was a key in this game. Dan was nervous out there and made an error early on, but then he made 3-4 great plays. He didn't give us the offense Grant would have, but we didn't expect him to. He came in and played defense the way we wanted.

In the first half they had more energy, were more physical and they played harder than us in the first 12 or 13 minutes. We didn't compete as hard as they did. When that happens, the team that fights for loose balls (and) fights for rebounds is going to be ahead.

He hustled, plain and simply. He played hard. He was one of the guys that played like he normally plays in regular games. He ran down loose balls, made shots, made some deflections. That's why I left him in the game for so long.
