Intel is making progress with our handset processors, particularly in the smart-phone space. Some of the handset manufacturers will be successful; some will not. But Palm and RIM are established companies, so we know we will do well with them.

Getting the costs down to $20 ex-factory is a big challenge for handset manufacturers and their semiconductor and component suppliers and we believe with our background we can help both Tier 1 handset makers and original design manufacturers to meet this target.

As carriers and handset vendors seek to drive greater adoption of 3G services, however, we believe the pace of these technology upgrades could drive a mobile handset inventory overhang, similar to that seen in 2003 as customers began adopting camera-equipped handsets.
