I've had my injury problems at Spurs over he last few months and it's been a bit of a nightmare training with the reserves and not getting a look-in with the first team.

A lot of compromises had to be made for the Spurs to make this happen, but the Spurs were willing to make the sacrifice for Tim. [Karl Malone has yet to tell the Spurs whether he will play for them. The Spurs also haven't asked. Yet. We spent the last week training more in team systems, and it had a dramatic effect on our results. We are seeing the hard work put into our fundamental skills training the past three months being applied to our team system now.

Red had gotten me out of my two-year obligation. He?d gotten me into the reserves. I was gone for six months and was back with the team.

I thought I was done. I've never had an injury like that in my life. I thought I was going to be out like two months. I'm just glad it happened during spring training and before the regular season.

If the injury is serious, I mean, he talked about having injuries and he knew there was a chance it could happen with him fighting two months out. And with him fighting two months out I never really thought he planned on fighting me anyway. I really don't think his injury is legit. If it is I'm sorry, but I really don't think it is.

Considering the injury problems we have had, I am very pleased with this team. Most people don't realize it, but we recruited a member of the track team (Monique Bassett) to help us out.
