They backed off of a plan that was really a disaster for the county and they adopted one that was significantly better but still has some problems.

The issue is personal responsibility. There's no instant answer. We don't have a warehouse here in Pierce County with 100 cops and 100 firefighters sitting around playing cards, waiting for a disaster. If it's a wide enough spread disaster, the big one, we're gonna have problems getting to people right away.

Most large organizations have some sort of disaster recovery plan for their IT. But where is the equivalent HR disaster plan? If people cannot get to work and the phone system in their office has been cut off, what should they do?

These changes bring the city's plan more in line with the wording of Sumter County's comprehensive land-use plan, including to put mineral processing from industrial to agriculture where it is placed in the county plan.

The current elections plan is a formula for problems and disaster. There's a prospect of contested ballots.

I've backed off cliffs all of my career. The best things I've done I've backed into. I never understood what I was getting into, I never started out to be a political cartoonist. I think its just a case of all of the lifestyle amenities that continue to be built in that area, the very positive perception of the Peters School district and the significantly lower taxes in Washington County versus Allegheny County.
