Again the pitching did ordsprog

Again the pitching did an excellent job for us. Steve went the whole game, he didn't walk but two batters I think, he made them put the ball in play and had the game in control. That's what you want to see out of your pitching.

It was a well-played game, and the pitching was excellent. Both pitchers kept the batters off guard.

We didn't make the play on the bunt and it snowballed from there. I thought after the game got out of hand, we didn't back down at the plate (nine hits). We just didn't get the starting pitching. In baseball has always started and ended with starting pitching. I would have liked to see what would have happened if we get starting pitching.

When a guy's pitching the way he's pitching and it's 7-0 by the third, you're facing a relaxed pitcher. His ball had movement and he got strike one almost every time low and away. He pitched a heck of a game. That 7-0 [lead] made all the difference in the world to him.

We felt like in game one, our pitching got it done, but our batters didn't. So we came out fired up and put a lot of runs on the board.

The way we built this team we have confidence in our pitching staff. That's our game. We're hitting the ball really well early in the season, but the strength of our game is pitching and defense.

I don't think our bats responded the way they were supposed to respond. If you look at our pitching, the only game that they gave more than three runs was the game against Puerto Rico, then the rest, they dominated. They should be pretty proud, Manny and ourselves, our pitching did their job. We just didn't find the offense.

I really like pitching a lot. I am comfortable anywhere, infield or outfield. I like all the positions. I like pitching the best just because of the feeling you have out there. When you are on, the looks on their (hitters) faces is cool. You can control the game almost.

Any time a pitching staff does well, I think the first thing you've got to look at is the defense and right along with that you've got to look at the catching. The catcher holds the brain. He's the guy that everybody is looking at to be the leader and take control of the game and keep that pace going. With A.J. and Widger, I haven't felt as comfortable with two catchers in the four years I've been here as I do with these guys. They remember the game plan and they carry it out. That's one of the reasons why we've had the kind of pitching staff we've had this year.

We made every play defensively and we ran the bases well. It doesn't hurt that in her first game pitching, Katie Roach throws a perfect game and Lynne Zachary gets her first career home run to end the game.

I thought our pitching staff pitched well all weekend. We made errors the first game. The guys that were pitching were doing a good job.

The guys hit the ball really well today, that part of our game seems to be coming around. Our pitching was also pretty strong, even though Brian struggled a little with his control. We made a couple of silly errors, so that's the area we're really trying to address as we head into our last few games. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. The guys hit the ball really well today, that part of our game seems to be coming around. Our pitching was also pretty strong, even though Brian struggled a little with his control. We made a couple of silly errors, so that's the area we're really trying to address as we head into our last few games.

Over any short period, pitching can carry a team. We've got the kind of pitching than can give you the chance to win game after game after game.

Successful pitching is reflected in the won-loss column. If our pitching staff performs well, our team as a whole will do well. Pitching is very important in the game of fast-pitch softball.

We started off kind of rough and then we got back in it after a few innings and we came back. We were just sort of rusty pitching wise coming off the Spring Break. We still hit the ball well and defensively we didn't have any errors. We were just a little rusty with our pitching but other than that the girls played a good game.
