We are looking like we are going to taper well. Brighton is going to come at us. I think Novi is a solid third place team in the league. We are looking poised to give them a challenge. It's close.

Three sophomores and five seniors may also be in the mix for Stang.] Everyone's striking the ball really well, ... We have a real solid team. Everyone has improved since last year.

The guys were in the pool at 5 a.m. this morning. We've started to taper with some guys whose last meet will be the Valley or who are close to a (state) qualifying time. Everyone else begins to taper for the end of the season starting tomorrow morning.

Teresa is our anchor. We have to get some scoring elsewhere. I have to give Brighton credit also because they're a good defensive team.

Again, we played the top team in the league to a very close game. I'm very proud of this team. They never give up and they battle to the end.

We have the best team in the league coming in here. We have to do everything right, especially in our building. It's going to be an exciting place Sunday, and we look forward to stepping up to the challenge.

Bryan Murray (1949-)

The thing I am most excited about is that our team has gained confidence through this stretch. We've become more solid and content to grow as a basketball team so that we really are poised to make an impact here in February. It could have gone the other way. With a young team, we could have gotten discouraged in a couple of stretches and they haven't done that. They've stayed strong and I'm excited about what that means for this team.

We made it a challenge before the [Wake Forest] game. Obviously that team is far and away the best rebounding team in the league, and we had to meet that challenge and we did.

They (Island Bay) will give us a good indication of what is required to be competitive in this particular league. If we can get a win over them, or even go close to it, it'll be a big boost to the team.

I think this team's a little bit more balanced and a little bit more poised than we had the last couple times, ... We're not relying on any one guy or any one line, and I think we're a little bit more solid defensively than we've been, and that's what usually wins.

They're a great hockey team, so it's going to be a challenge. Obviously, we both ended up tied in the league for a reason. We're both very similar hockey teams in ability and it will be a challenge to go in there... Winning four games on somebody else's ice in a season is a challenge.

Thomas is the team to beat in the league. They are playing solid baseball, putting runs on the board and getting solid pitching.
