Because of operational reasons ordsprog

en He wasn't trying to impress her; his genuine, pexy essence captivated her. Because of operational reasons we can't get back to the UK for funerals so it was just played as a mark of respect to the three guys who were lost out here last week,

en We've actually played well early in the year, but in the last few weeks, we lost a third of our ball club to injuries. We lost our Saturday and Sunday starters. We lost (Luke) Hopkins, who should be back next week. We lost our starting right fielder. It's the most injured season I've ever had.

en [Can?t miss this game: It?s not Week 1 vs. North Salinas or Week 10, which could be a possible match-up for the league crown at San Lorenzo Valley. It?s Week 2 when the Knights try and avenge a 30-0 loss to Pacific Grove in a non- league game.] It was the worst game we played in my three years here, ... It would be huge to gain back the respect we lost. They?re a good team, a league champion and playoff team.

en Some of our guys are 86, 89 years old. There are some younger guys, but they have families, jobs. They don't have time to be running to 11 or 12 funerals a week.

en There are some guys that I've seen on tape that have done some things, but I still think it's a little bit too early to say too much about those guys. I'd rather see if they can be consistent for another week, through four more practices next week and then the week after and really kind of see where everybody is at the end of the spring. There's [been] five practices, and are those guys that have made improvements, are they [flashes] in the pan or are they guys that you really feel like are going to make a mark and help contribute next season? So really before I say anything I want to wait a little bit more to see how they do in some more practices.

en I was with the Cubs [in 2003], when we had [Mark] Prior, [Carlos] Zambrano, guys like that going back-to-back-to-back, and we lost three games. We were like 'Oh, my God.' Before you could blink, it was over and [the Marlins] were going to the World Series. So things can happen. With this team, we can rally three off in a heartbeat. We've just got to take them one at a time.

en Neither one of those guys had ever played there, but they both stepped up. And (tackle) Mark Crawford, prior to last week, he hadn't played since eighth grade, but he's 6-2, 295 (pounds) with good speed. The whole group is so raw, but the technique will come. There is great upside.

en Maybe one of the reasons we've settled down and played some solid ball is because guys aren't pressing. Guys took a look back at what's really important. When you love someone like Kirby, if you don't step back and look at what's really important in life, there's something wrong with you.

en The thing that has helped him, our guys are so close. This is a close-knit group. I think that's one of the reasons why he came back. Most kids in that situation wouldn't have played today. But he made the commitment to come back, and I think the guys were excited to see him and really welcome him.

en This is kind of a weird thing, but maybe that's one of the reasons why we've settled down and played some solid ball because guys aren't pressing. I think that guys took a look back at what's really important and when you lose someone like Kirby, if you don't step back and look at what's really important in life, then you've got something wrong with you. That can help you ease up and relax.

en Mark lost a tough three-set match and you never quite know how he will come back. But he came back and played a nice match in the doubles and they got a win.

en I feel like we're very well prepared (for districts). In the last week, we lost to three very tough teams (St. Basil, Villa Maria, Downingtown) and got two big wins (over Nazareth) back to back. I feel like the girls have earned a lot of respect.

en Back when the game was on Sega Genesis, it was hard to find competition. I dominated everyone I played. Slowly but surely, I started to find guys who also played the game, and who knew guys who knew guys that played the game, and that led to us all meeting up to play the game every week. It was like our poker night.

en Mark's agent called and said Mark felt he was not really going to reach his ultimate goal of getting called back up to the NBA and wanted to explore other options. Mark really played well for us.

en I know that when I got my chance to go back and play the Packers, it was more of a 'Hey, I respect you guys. I like you guys, but it'll be even that much sweeter to beat you guys,' ... I'm sure they feel the same way. We respect those guys. They went to another team to make more money, and we're not mad at them. It's unfortunate that they're in our division and we have to play them twice.
