[We've] had a lot of games go against us like that where we haven't been able to seize the moment, and our guys seem to be growing up as a team, and it's nice to see.

My guys almost every night battle really hard. They've had a lot of things go against them in late game situations and we haven't been able to seize the moment. Lately, we've been able to do that and our guys appear to growing up as a team.

It was a special moment. You're only a rookie once. You only get one opportunity to do that, and it was nice to be able to do that, especially here. I scored my first goal here, and it was a very similar feeling to that. It's also nice the way the guys were really pushing for me the last few games here and trying really hard to help me accomplish this. I can't say enough about what they've done to support me.

It's not beautiful, but it's sweet to these guys. It's been a rough road all year, but this team is still young and learning how to play - we've got a sophomore point guard. But they're growing. It's not like we're getting killed, we're in games and we haven't been able to finish it off, and today we finished it off.

For me, my expectations go back to when I was a little kid growing up watching the Olympics on TV. I loved the Summer Games, particularly track and field. Everyone has their own special Olympic moment. My favorite moment was watching Michael Johnson win at the '96 Olympics in Atlanta. That's it. That's my moment . . . big time . . . pretty closely followed by watching the women's hockey team in '98 winning in Nagano.

We built this team for this exact scenario; we've got four guys in the bullpen who have started Major League games. We're hoping they can seize this opportunity and keep us afloat.

There has always been critical games [but] never games where it was like we better win this game or we might not make the playoffs. That was new to us because we are expected to do something. Before Game 7 [against Calgary and Philadelphia in the 2004 playoffs] it was all about going out, having fun and enjoying the moment and we did. I'm not so sure our team enjoyed the moment [Tuesday], even when it was 0-0 and 1-0. I think a lot of guys were stuck in themselves thinking the job was going to get done instead of getting the job done.

every year there is that magic moment when everybody says we can agree. That moment is at hand. We do not want to deny our members the opportunity to seize that moment.

I'm very happy about it. Our guys have done a great job of finding each other out there. We don't take many bad threes; most of them are off the ball movement. We've had games where we haven't made them as well, and we've still been able to win. But it's a nice weapon to have.

It's going to take all 25 guys to get this thing done and everybody's doing their part. I think all the individual stuff takes a back seat. I'm having a lot of fun winning baseball games. As a team, it's nice to be up with six wins in the first nine games.

You'll seldom experience regret for anything that you've done. It is what you haven't done that will torment you. The message, therefore, is clear. Do it! Develop an appreciation for the present moment. Seize every second of your life and savor it. Value your present moments. Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you've lost them forever.

There's something about this team and something about this place. They've kept the tradition alive. We might have a new floor, but the leprechauns are still in the rafters and that's Cardinal spirit. I told them to seize the moment. We're not going there just for the ride. Who knows when we'll get this opportunity again? But we're there right now.

We know we have the opportunity here. It doesn't come around all the time. We just have to seize the moment, seize the opportunity.

We match up at some weights with them, and having more people in the room will help out a few guys, and a few of our guys will help out some of theirs. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. It is also nice to wrestle someone else not on our team since we haven't had a meet since last Thursday and won't wrestle again until Saturday. Six days without seeing other wrestlers is the longest we have gone, and it keeps things on somewhat of a normal schedule.

That was big. Our guys worked hard to get on base, and Phil?s been hitting the ball real nice for us all year. He got a nice pitch to hit and dropped the bat on the ball and it went out. That was a good start for us -- we needed that. We haven?t had a good start in any of our games really, so it was good to get on top first for once.
