If you look around the league, other than the top teams, all the teams try to get to be a consistent team. The only way you get to be a consistent team is if you get a consistent effort, especially from your key guys. That's kind of kind of separates the teams.

If you look at the better teams in the league when they get a team down they finish out the game. That's kind of what separates us from those teams right now is playing 48-minute games.

The problem with that is you've got to win. You can't expect teams to keep losing. There's some teams in the division that are good teams and we can be a good team, too, but we're not playing consistent enough to be a good team.

As if it was an injury, teams have to overcome adversity. What you see is a team that's very spiritual and plays with a purpose. We were playing with lots of emotion and a lot of intensity. What I like about it is it's consistent. It was a complete, total team effort.

The key for us is to play consistent. We're kind of a team that plays in spurts. We seem to be able to overcome some of those spurts at home. When we get out on the road, we need to be more consistent. When you go on the road, you have to get a group of guys playing well.

They've had a few ups and downs, been consistent, found a way to win. It's been one of those years for Barry also where he's had to replace a lot of guys and get his football team back to try to compete with what they had last year. So we're two very comparable teams.

I only see great things out of this team if we keep working. We just have to be consistent. That's the key - consistent, all-out effort. And if we have that, there's not too many people in this nation that can play with us.

I think the injuries really affected us last weekend. I think we are a better team than the other teams, but we need to be more consistent. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. I think it will all come together when it really counts.

He's the reason this football team has been able to be so consistent through the years. His philosophy and his makeup decide the makeup of this football team, so we're a physical bunch of guys, tough-minded, because he's a real reflection of that. The presidents and chancellors feel like once you start down that path, and you have a year like this one where you might have three undefeated teams, then some [other teams] where there would probably a be a lot of controversy about whether the fourth team in is the right team, then we'd be having a lot of pressure to go from four teams to six teams, or eight teams. Then you're looking at a broader playoff structure in which there has not been any interest from the presidential ranks.

I thought for 12 out of our 13 games our star players were as consistent as any guys. Tonight, for some reason, we just weren't as consistent. We looked like a team that came off a four-day break.
