en This happened to be my first visit, and I fell in love. Coach 'Bo' [ex-wide receivers coach Bryan Bossard, now at Maryland] referred to it as being in a relationship. If you're committed to one girl, why would you want to go talk to other girls? So, I canceled my other visits, to Central Michigan, Bowling Green and Hawaii.

en Our wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan has a history with Bryan. He feels he is a young receiver with a huge upside. He is a big, strong receiver with speed who is physical and will contribute. I am looking forward to adding Bryan to our receiving unit.

en The Thursday before I came back to Fork Union [I committed]. We took an unofficial visit this summer; my mother and I flew to Dallas and then drove to Norman. They were my first scholarship offer. I talked to the receivers coach, Coach Wyatt, out there. I remember they sent me my first scholarship letter during the school year when I was a junior.

en I love coach Capers. He's the only coach I've ever known, but I like him, especially this season. He hasn't been just a coach. If you had something going on away from football, you could go and talk to him as a friend.

en Folks within over there know how a lot of those things are handled are somewhat of a shame, but you can't really just point fingers to say it's the Green Bay Packers because it's an issue all across the league, ... There's not enough minority coaches in the league across the board. So, just to pinpoint that one, that just so happened to be an issue that I kind of experienced first-hand from my relationship in Green Bay as well as with Coach Washington.

en People in Hawaii have a built-in twinkle in their eye, and bring a sense of play and ohana to their work. When you leave work for the weekend in Boise, Idaho or Delaware, Maryland, you don't see your coworkers again until Monday -- that's not true of Hawaii, which has the most bowling and softball leagues of any state in the union.

en I was concerned when I found out his parents had both gone to Central Michigan and his high school coach had graduated from Central. I knew Central was recruiting him and became very concerned. Brian let me know early on that he was very interested in Western, and he was true to his word. That put my mind at ease that he was going to look at things openly.

en She's looking at Central Michigan, Oshkosh, Stout and Winona (State) in Minnesota. I'm very confident she'll be able to play college basketball. She's every kind of player a coach likes. She's a great everyday player. She sets a good example for the rest of the kids. I've been enjoying being her coach since fifth grade.

en Every day, it was Bowling Green is this or Bowling Green is that, and Bowling Green is out to win. That got annoying. Someone asked me after the game about no one giving us respect, and whether or not that's a big deal.

en [Coach Joe Gibbs said he believes the Redskins have ample playmakers among the wide receivers, although Taylor Jacobs and James Thrash have been silent as well.] I think we've got other people. Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness. You're right. If it's just Santana, then we've got a problem because people can take one guy away, ... But I think we've got other receivers there, and hopefully they'll step up and do their part now.

en Like [receivers coach Fred Graves] says, 'Leave your ego back at USC, Texas, at Michigan State. Be Detroit Lions.'

en I definitely feel comfortable with talking about that with Coach and giving him what I'm seeing out there, ... Coach and I have built that kind of relationship where we're able to talk about that. I can tell him how I feel about certain things.

en When you hear the Ole Miss people, they talk about (Vaught) the same way we talk about coach Bryant. He's a man's man and a coach's coach. He found a way to win, and he did it the right way.

en He loved to talk about defense. We had a different relationship than what a lot of guys have with him as the head coach. I don't know him as the head coach. I know him as the general manager coming in and saying, 'Hey, what's going on?' as opposed to saying, 'What the hell are you doing?' There's a difference.

en Music is an expression of your experiences, but it can't be an expression in a way that people can't understand. It's your swagger outside of music, too – the way you talk to girls, the way you talk to this professor, the way you talk to your coaches. You have to know what to say depending on who your audience is. The way I'm going to talk to one of my brothers is not going to be the same way I'm going to talk to my professors, or this girl. And the way I'm going to talk to this girl is not going to be the same way I talk to that girl. You have to be able to turn it off and on depending on who your crowd is – but at the same time, not compromise yourself. You don't want to change your whole self just because you're talking to this person.
