I think they are just coming right after him. This is what good pitchers do with people like David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez, and Vladimir Guerrero. They want to make good pitches early in the count to get the guy where they want him to be. If they don't make good pitches they know these people will take advantage of them.

You can't miss over the plate with him -- him and Manny both. That's their team. Usually, Ortiz puts a pretty good swing on me.

Ortiz hit the solo shot and we had the base open, so we figured we'd let Guillermo go after Manny. He was just able to pull it the opposite way.

Mo did a great job with both Manny and Ortiz. He made his pitches, and if they were going to beat him, they were going to beat him on his pitches. He walked both of them, but he kind of dictated the at-bats.

It's going to be key for Coco and I to get on base. (Ramirez and Ortiz) have shown throughout their careers that they hit well with men on base and men in scoring position. They drove in, what, 140 runs last year? That's a lot.

They are a good hitting ball club over there. We had the lead in the seventh inning but Ortiz tied the game with a solo shot and then Manny got something he could drive and it got out of here.

Ortiz has pulled quite a few home runs this year, and Manny wasn't having good passes at balls away all series. I just figured I'd stay out there, and they threw the ball pretty much where I wanted.

It means we have one of the most dangerous hitters in the game hitting back-to-back with David [Ortiz]. When Manny gets hot, he's not going to hit singles. We hope he hits a bunch of homers.
