en I think our guys on our team they know the importance of each game.

en I've been here for 24 years. I've been up there when we beat Perry in '91, when they had a team with Will Macon and Eddie Benton that was almost like us. We had a team that was determined. I tell the guys, 'This is two of the best going at each other, and they're not afraid of your ranking or your record.' They realize the importance. With one team moving on and the other going home, it raises the stakes.

en I feel like everybody knows what is at stake. Everybody knows the importance of every game. We had a good meeting before the game in New York and I think it helped us out because it got us focusing on what we need to do as a basketball team.

en I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. en We had a few guys struggle, some guys that we'll be counting on every night as the season winds on, but I think the more experience we get the better we'll be. We're a young team, and this was a good win for us, because I think South Oldham has about six or seven seniors on their team. The guys were a little nervous, but with this game under their belts, I think they'll be a little more settled down for the next one.

en Last night I told them before the game this is going to be about everything that we've talked about since the first day of practice. Unselfishness. Team work. Team defense. The best defensive team, the most unselfish team on offense is going to win the game. That's ultimately the way it played out for our guys.

en Everybody's surprised. There's guys, not naming anybody, that won't sniff the playoffs, that are 15 games under .500, that are playing in the game. But it is an All-Star Game. It's an individual performance game. Very rarely do team players get rewarded. He's probably the best team player in the game.

en It was the game where those guys that were new to the team all made contributions. Yet, no one got singled out after the game. It was about this was great team defense -- our best team defensive game.

en In our last game against Kennesaw, we had three or four guys kicked out [for fighting], and they had four or five guys that were thrown out. Two years ago, playing Kennesaw was a nothing game, and now they are the team to beat. They are currently the number one team in the conference.

en They are playing more as a team. You're not seeing guys talking all about themselves. Even before the (2003) game, they had a couple of guys suspended for the first quarter. You could just tell (during the game) that they didn't come in with the mindset that they were playing a good team. en We talked about the importance of this game. Our trip would have ended 3-3 or 4-2. These are points that we desperately needed and I think our guys recognized that in the third period.

en When you first come in, you respect and just want to fit in. Now I've been the leader of the team and one of the oldest guys here, ... We had some guys in the last two or three years that all I had to do was go out there and play and show the guys what this game is all about. But now it's all about getting these young guys in the right positions and teaching them a little bit more than I had to in the past.

en Once the desperation kicked in, the bigger the game and the bigger the moment, he stepped up. Every other team in the league hates him, but when he is on your team, you just know the importance of what he is going to bring. It's what he is doing now. It's almost like he gets on a mission where he is just going to get something done.

en We have different guys scoring every game, and if you key on one or two of our guys, the other guys will kill you. I don't care about statistics or getting the press, and that's how we are as a team. Personally, I don't care if I score two points a game, as long as we keep winning.
