en To be able to have the kind of night I had and have a big goal like that is special for me. It was gratifying in a lot of ways.

en In some ways that's more gratifying, it requires more of your own energy and your own input, and everyone's kind of collective energy, and that's...in a way that's more gratifying.

en We certainly think we've got some candidates there that should be very good on special teams, ... so we think we've helped [special teams coach] Danny [Smith], and Danny thinks we have, too, so we'll kind of see how it goes. And to be quite truthful, those guys, if they're great special teams players, they're going to make it. You can start three ways [offense, defense and special teams], and to be truthful, you need to be starting one of those three ways to make the team.

en Special teams is every night. Tonight was a special teams game and we have to find a way to get a goal. Special teams is the difference every night.

en There is a lot of tradition with Pittsburgh and to be a part of that would be really special. We have the four trophies in our building and I pass them every day and to bring another one there would be very gratifying and very special for the whole team.

en Scoring a goal is special. Scoring a hat trick is special. I don't think you ever get tired of it. You know, obviously, once you get the second one, you start a kind of run for the puck and the net.

en It's gratifying for all of us because you just don't know who is going to do it from night to night. At any given time anybody on this team can make a play to win the game for us.

en I was real happy with the way we responded after falling behind early. We've really done that all year long. We haven't gotten down on ourselves when we've fallen behind. I think we answered their goal with one of our own about a minute and a half later. Once we got that first goal, it kind of ignited a fire for us the rest of the night.

en To see him have that kind of night made it really special.

en I think everything in this game comes down to special teams. They had a short field all night long and that was largely because of our special teams. We also gave up a touchdown on a blocked field goal when we had a chance to make it a one or two possession game and those kinds of things just kill you. He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring.

en We needed that game. That was our goal after losing last night. This was kind of the same game, but in reverse. Last night, we had second and third and nobody out. We were upset at ourselves for not tying that up.

en It meant as much to me to give a big hit as it did to score a big goal. And to leave a mark for being that kind of player is special to me.

en It's a very special night, especially knowing we're playing for a championship. We were kind of given a gift tonight.

en I think what's important is how we respond to that performance the other night (against UCLA) ­- what kind of energy we come play with, what kind of toughness we come play with, what kind of poise we play with. Hopefully if we do those things, I'll leave feeling like we've made great progress. Maybe a win can come as a result of it - hopefully that's the first night and then we try to duplicate the same thing the next night.

en Our goal wasn't to go undefeated. This streak has kind of taken on a life of its own. I just tell the kids to enjoy this season because it is special.
