He does a great ordsprog

en He does a great job of getting people to play their best. One of the reasons we are such a good team is that every day in practice is like a game to us. Everything we do is competitive, and everything we do we want to win, no matter what the drill is. He knows you have to coach everyone differently.

en Anytime we play it's a good game. It doesn't matter how high either team is ranked, it's competitive. It is a great rivalry and it brings out the best in both teams.

en He was a great competitor, great player for us, a three-year starter. I think it is an honor for me to have him coach. He also coached Legion here at Walpole High for four years. He's certainly a good baseball coach, it's just one loss today. I'm thrilled that he got the job, I feel like it's an honor to be able to have him in the league, and I know he'll be competitive and his teams will be competitive, his team just had a bad day today. He'll get them back, he's 3-4, they're right in the thick of things.

en It was a good showing for our team and it was a great atmosphere. It was a great game for everybody at home. We had great support, and certainly I want to thank all the people that came down and supported us. We were playing a very good team. We beat Delaware State. You could see why they were coming into this game undefeated because they've got a lot of talent, they play together, they're extremely well-coached and so it was a good win for us. It was a win that we desperately needed.

en I can't coach, but it's ok, it's my players fault, they're just not producing. I can't get on the court for them, they have to get it done, there's nothing that I can do for them. Coaching is done in practice. Plays just don't matter when it comes to game time if your players cannot complete them and I can ot draw them up. Why should a team trust in me when I cannot coach?

en It's always different than when you see them in a drill, but I hear he's doing a great job. I know the game in Japan is a little different than it is here. But what's great about this game is that it's universal. It doesn't matter which side of the ocean you're on, it's the same game.

en We do a six-minute drill every day at practice and we need to bring that drill into the game. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. We do a six-minute drill every day at practice and we need to bring that drill into the game.

en It don't get no better than that, ... We practice that -- we have takeaway drills in practice, and that's the same the drill, 'scoop-and-score.' You can thank (safeties) coach (Chad) Glasgow for that one.

en There's 12 really good reasons (to stay), the 12 players on my team, ... And that's always going to be the case. You always

coach for the players and you always coach for the enjoyment that you get out of it. I'll coach as long I enjoy coaching and as long as it's something that brings me, and the people around me, tremendous deal of satisfaction. When that's not the case any more I won't coach anymore. Here or anywhere else.

en It should be a great day of fun for everyone. I encourage coaches that have a game that day to bring their team to get fired up with a competitive batting practice before the game. Everyone that takes part in this benefit will be a winner.

en The team is really trying to focus in and guys are really going at each other in practice extremely hard, probably the hardest all year. That's good to see. When you bring that competitive nature to practice, you know you'll bring it to the game.

en Obviously we look forward to the game for a couple of reasons. Mexico is certainly and arguably our biggest rival in CONCACAF and that always makes for a good game. More importantly, any kind of positive result for the U.S. qualifies us for the next World Cup and that's been our objective since June of 2004. We obviously look forward to the game. We love playing in Columbus. We anticipate a great crowd, and one that's very supportive of the U.S. team. I'm confident we're going to field a strong team and play well.

en During every practice, in between every drill, we shoot free throws. This was the kind of game that you hope is played out at this level. It was crazy to coach but enjoyable to watch. I think the turning point was the third quarter. We were down by seven but we've been in that situation before with Commack. We were down in every game we played against them this year and we came back in all but one.

en (Friday) during our final drill in practice, we took the 1944 championship game ball and during our last press breaker, we got a chance to run up and down the court with it. We join the 1944 team and now people aspire to the 2006 team. This is a testament to all the hard work that resulted in a state championship.

en Coach Coughlin always tells us that this is a team of record. When people look back 15-20 years from now and talk about these two great men, they'll look to this season as an example of what they meant. I take that very seriously. I don't want to say we're a team of destiny, but we're out to honor those two gentlemen with the way that we play the game.
